Dentist. I am honest and reliable. Furthermore, I am easy going and flexible. I love meeting new people =)
The location of the appartment was perfect, nice quiet neighourhood, nearby two metro stations and a supermarket around the corner. The appartment on the other hand was very basic, nothing special. Almost everything you need is there, but don't expect any luxury. You have to walk the stairs to the appartment, but it was no problem for us (and I am six months pregnant).
We had a problem with the (central) heater, it was incredibly hot in the appartment, even at night (not very comfortable). The last thing I would like to mention is that we haven't seen Evan at all. We had to pick up the key 10 minutes by cab (everything went well, but it was not a warm welcome). We haven't heard from him all week. It would have been nice if there was some information in the appartment about the appartment (central heater, waste, extra handtowels etc.) and the neighourhood, so that is a tip for Evan.
We booked the apartment for a weeks holiday in New York and were not disappointed.
Climbing the 3 flights of stairs (which look quite beaten up!) was quite hard work with our suitcases but we were very happy with the apartment when we got inside. It was warm and very quiet. The heat pipes kept it lovely and warm the whole time we were there although at night the pipes can be a little noisy (though after the first night we didn't notice them). We couldn't get the radiator to work in one of the bedrooms but didn't need it as we were warm enough anyway.
Towels and bedding were provided along with tea bags and condiments etc that would be needed for cooking. We didn't really use the kitchen at all though as there are just too many nice places to eat and drink in New York!
Evan arranged for us to collect the key on the way to the apartment which wasn't a problem and was a very helpful host.
The apartment itself is basic but had everything we needed and might look less basic with a few pics etc on the walls. The wifi connection was great and we only turned the TV on once during out stay.
UR Cup was a cute little coffee shop around the corner which kept us well caffeinated every morning, however, it closed down the last day we were in NY!
It is situated on a quiet street in Chelsea with plenty of grocery stores and coffee shops nearby. It is also walking distance to Chelsea Market and the High Line. There are several metro stations with in 5 mins walking distance and we often just walked up town to Times Square/5th Avenue/Empire State building etc etc.
Would definitely use the apartment again!
Evan was an accommodating, professional, and gracious host. We had a wonderful time in the apartment - it is just as advertised. A+ host!
A great experience in NYC!!
Evan apartment is perfect, ideally placed and very quiet.
Evan is really flexible and accommodating.
We hope rent this flat again and again...
Great find! Little bit of confusion with key but once that sorted out all fine plus Evan let us check in early - much appreciated.
Yes there are four floors of stairs but only an issue if you have heaps of luggage - and great exercise. We were worried after coming from an Australian summer we wouldn't be warm enough but the heat pipes are divine. (Never did figure out how to use the radiator). Plenty of room for 3 girls and beds, doonas and pillows super comfy!
3 mins walk to subway - 10 mins to Chelsea market which is a must! If you are hunting for a decent coffee - urcup on 8th just around the corner is great! 8th ave also supermarkets, organic foragers market and everything you possibly need!
Evan responsive when asked anything and recommend his place - biggest bonus was the QUIET - so peaceful you would have no idea you were in heart of NYC!
Great location and quiet as advertised, was a very suitable option for the weekend Manhattan conference my friends and I were in town for.
We have had a great week in New York. Evan is very nice/helpful and we met in the apartment to hand over the key. The apartment is small and for max 4 people! The 5th person has to sleep on an aerobed which is not comfortable and which you have to replace every day in case you want to live in the livingroom. Only one small bathroom with the toilet and the shower in it which is a bit difficult to handle for 2 adults and 3 children in the age of 20/18/15. There is not a table for breakfast or dinner, so we decided to have our breakfast outside as well (around the corner Le Pain Quotidien, very tasteful). The apartment is situated centrally and you can see a big part of New York without using the underground. The pictures on the website are a bit more nice than the situation itself, however, if you are living on the street as you would like to see New York, it should not be a problem. Do not expect a luxury apartment, do expect a basic apartment and than all would be fine!
We are very satisfied.
Everything was good, Evan is really very nice and helpful, he waited us at the apartment as agreed and the apartment complies with the description.
The position is very close to the Metro station and to a lot of restaurants, the kitchen is a bit small but very functional and the two bedrooms are comfortable and warm.
The only minor flaw are the stairs, but if you are concerned about two flights of stairs, you do not have to go to New York because the beauty of this fantastic city is to walk around the streets without a destination and get lost in so many different areas.
In conclusion, this apartment is perfect for anyone who really wants to live a week of true New Yorker. Thank you very much Evan, we hope to see you again very soon!!!
The apartment offers enough space for 4 people. It was clean and the new beds were comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with the most necessary and sufficient. Check-in and check-out were easy. The location of the apartment is perfect to explore the city in every direction. Underground stations are within a few minutes’ walk away. Evan was very helpful, friendly and he answered in a short time to mails. The only “drawback” is that there was no good dining option. But to be fair, the apartment for a real table with good seating is not big enough ;-) Two additional stools would be great. Maybe the one window should get also a fly screen :-). All told it was a nice stay and we felt comfortable.
Evan's place is a good spot because it's in the middle of everything. But, the place was not very clean, the two beds are very very old and uncomfrotable unfortunately because one of them is almost broke...
More, there was a lot of bugs. Each day a new bug came out...
Evan knows about all that, we had a frank conversation about all these issues already. Here is our honest review about the place. Just facts.
Evan and his friend were great guests, very friendly and down-to-earth. They left the place tidy, weren't in the least bit demanding and I would definitely host them again.
Evan has been a guest very careful with the things the department has complied with the hours of check in and check out. I recommend Evan as a guest of all Airbnb users.
