Welcome Home !
Extremely stylish and clean apartment in a buzzing young and trendy district. Nicolas is great at communicating and the whole experience was straight forward and carefree! We had such a nice weekend staying here - beats a hotel anyday!! Lots of nice bars and restaurants within walking distance, metro entrance is literally opposite the front door. As a designer loved being surrounded by Nicolas' prints and huge collection of art/design books. Highly recommend staying here! Thank you for having us :-)
Fabulous place for our overnight stay in Paris! Visually beautiful apartment! This guy has taste! Everything was perfect and clean and the location can't be beat. We could have stayed the whole day and just looked at all the beautiful books. Bed was very comfy, kitchen very well appointed and everything in the whole place is gorgeous! Thanks so much for having us.
Fabulous apartment in Bastille! Small, with an excellent view. If you lean out the windows, you can even view the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The apartment is spacious enough for 1 or 2 people to stay comfortably. The living room has a large sofa (the 2 parts could be joined together), in order for a 3rd person to sleep. The bed is very comfortable. It's very quiet in the apartment. The neighbors are quiet. The only sounds I noticed were people occasionally going up and down the stairs. The stairwell is beside the hallway at the entrance, so not too much sound entered the living room and bedroom. The kitchen is ample if you are cooking, and all the dishes, utensils, and pots are provided. Overall the apartment is beautiful and very artistic, just as the pictures show. Plenty of light comes in the living room windows. The apartment is centrally located right among plenty of shops; patisseries, brasseries, etc. I would definitely recommend this place. Nicolas is also a very pleasant and charming host.
Host - 5 stars: Nicolas was nice and responsive!
Apartment - 3.5 stars: The apartment is artfully decorated, but very small (too be expected in Paris). Nicolas seems to love lamps, as they are in every corner of the 500 sq ft apartment!
Location - 4 stars: Conveniently located above metro, 4 flights of stairs which is good exercise, but gets you winded carrying luggage up!
Cleanliness - 4.5 stars: Apartment was cleaned during stay, but did not seem dirty when we arrived.
If your looking for a bed for the night and privecy in Paris away from the city center then this will fit the bill. It is easy to get around by metro which is directly outside the building. The negative things were, there was a wet/used towel lying on the bedroom floor. The neighbour downstairs had a party which was also held in the stairwell into the early hours of the morning. we couldnt get the dvd/tv system to work properly and although I txt Nicolas re this he didnt respond.
Nice place. Shame there is zero room to place anything. No clothes storage and not even a place you can put a drink without fear of damage. Good location for tube and a local feel.
This apartment is beautiful, modern and bright, and obviously very well cared for. As with many big cities, the apartments are very compact, but Nicolas uses every inch of this space very cleverly. Nicolas is a prompt, conscientious communicator, who gives great directions.
The neighbourhood is a little run-down, (there is a urine smell upon entering the apartment building), but the metro is right across the street, so we had no trouble getting around. Please note that it is on the fourth floor with no elevator. We didn't mind the climb at all, but some people may struggle with it.
There was a kettle to boil water and a single cup espresso maker (with the little plastic containers), but no coffee, tea or any food is provided.
Nicolas has a large collection of art books that are everywhere, even on one of the sofas. It is difficult to know where one is supposed to eat, as there is no table, and the coffee table is covered with magazines and (beautiful) ornaments.
The bed is quite hard but by the second night we had adjusted to it.
Overall though, it was a great place to stay.
We never met Nicolas, but did talk with him on the phone and he was very helpful and the apartment was very clean and convenient to the trains.
We have been to Paris many times and have stayed in several locations about the city. This is a very nice location, convenient to the bakery and transportation to any place you wish to visit.
The apartment is very decorated, which makes it a bit small for a lot of luggage, but two people can manage well.
The trains are just outside the door. Thank you Nicolas.
A small two person flat located in a very interesting central area of Paris. The area has a wide mix of social groups and is more genuinely Parisian than many tourist areas.
The flat is quiet although located on a busy road and very near all the facilities one would need for a visit to Paris. It is up four flights of stairs with no lift and so might be problematic for those less mobile or fit.
My only quibble is that the flat was very full of Nicholas' books and object d'art to the extent that there was virtually nowhere to put clothes, case or equipment (laptop, rut sac etc.). We had to drape our clothes over the two sofas which meant little room or space for us to sit down or do anything in the flat. All wardrobes are filled with Nicholas' own clothes and we were firmly told that all cupboards were private. (There are lots of firm instructions about cleaning up and putting away things which made me wonder why I also paid a cleaning fee!) I cannot remember a hired apartment where I could not put away anything. As I was combining a holiday with a business visit, this was rather inconvenient as I had a suit, papers etc. Apart from that, the apartment was fine. Arriving at 9 pm-ish after a flight it would have been nice to have had milk and coffee/tea available in the fridge. Apart from a post midnight text to ask if all OK on arrival, we subsequently heard nothing from Nicholas other than to say all instructions for use were on messages on the wall. A tad more genuine hospitality would have been appreciated.

This was a lovely nicely decorated apartment with a Metro station out the front door and a great neighborhood near The Bastille. The kitchen was quite small and not equipped for cooking, but ok for coffee. There are many places to eat right outside the apt and all reasonably priced. We were not greeted by Nicolas but believe this was because of something in his work schedule. This was a little odd to us but it all worked out.
Nicolas y sus amigos han sido unos huéspedes perfectos. La comunicación con ellos ha sido muy eficiente y han cuidado de la casa. Sinnduda me gustaría tenerlos en casa en otra ocasión. Muchas gracias Nicolas!
