Ms. Norma was a delightful and informative host that made our family feel welcome in her home. Ms. Norma’s personality and kindness is what makes us continue to use Airbnb for our travel accommodations.
The listing was 100% accurate with additional features not captured in the photos. The home was spacious enough for our family of 3 to comfortably enjoy our stay for two weeks. It would be a little tight if we had a guest however over for the night, but during the day, we can welcome 2-3 guests and we can have a comfortable evening of fun.
The neighborhood was in an ideal location next to all of the activities and conveniences one could ever want in a vacation. The shops, museums, pubs, coffee shops, pharmacies, grocery stores, and transits are all within a 10-15 minute walk from the home. Also the main through way, Benjamin Franklin Parkway was perfect for strolling and viewing the skyline. The neighborhood is safe to walk around in during the day and evenings as it is located near a few public and private schools.
A bonus for us was the Rodin museum about 10 minutes way. I would highly recommend this location for easy access to all that downtown Philadelphia has to offer. We look forward to our next visit.
Norma's place is a cozy townhouse in a great location. Everything was comfortable and convenient - and I appreciated the fruit and coffee and bottle of wine she left for me! Her neighbor greeted me and oriented me to the area, which was so helpful. Another thoughtful touch was the membership card at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which I enjoyed visiting. Also visited the Eastern State Penitentiary, a magnificent ruin that is also a tour of criminal justice theories and how they have changed over time. This was my introduction to Philadelphia, because I will be moving there, and it was the perfect way to experience a neighborhood and this wonderfully walkable city. No criticisms as all, everything was wonderful!
Norma was waiting at the house for us and welcomed us warmly. The house was just as pictured on the website, very charming and in a lovely neighborhood. It was a short walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and to the Barnes Foundation. It was great to have Internet access and laundry facilities available in the house. We had a great vacation in Philadelphia and would recommend Norma's place to anyone planning a trip there.
Norma was a wonderful host. She was in contact several times beforehand to make sure my girlfriend and I knew how to get to her place and had everything we needed. It was like having a mother away from home (and I mean that in the best way possible).
The house is very cute and cozy, and the location is fantastic. And a bonus is that the restaurant on the corner down the street, Bridgid’s, is out of this world good. It looks like a sports bar, but looks are deceiving. They make their pasta in-house, and the chef knows what he’s doing turning it into amazing dishes. Highly recommended.
I had a fantastic time in Philadelphia thanks to Norma's hospitality, and would happily stay at her place again.
Norma is very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Her house is adorable and compact, but spacious enough for a small family to be comfortable. The location was wonderful for us, being close to family who live nearby. the proximity to museums, buses, coffee shops and restaurants was also very handy. The neighborhood is safe and friendly, we had no concerns walking around at night. We loved our Philadelphia experience!
I’ve stayed in most parts of the city for work over the years and Fairmount is my new favorite. Restaurants galore – including two top-notch ones right on Norma’s on block – coffee shops, bookstores, under five minutes to the art museum … it really is a great neighborhood. The house is well-equipped and comfortable, exactly as described – no unwelcome surprises. Norma is generous and extraordinarily accommodating, not to mention a handy resource for all things Philadelphia. I wish I'd had more time in the evenings to sit outside with her lovely, neighborly neighbors. Thanks, Norma. Looking forward to my next visit.
What a great host Norma is, and what a perfect little apartment! Parking is a pain in the neck - seemingly all over Philadelphia, not just in Norma's neighborhood - but we were able to find free street parking for the entire week that we were there. I loved the cute, safe neighborhood, and it was so convenient to the river path, the museums, lovely little restaurants, and a fabulous second-hand book store. Whenever we are in Philadelphia, we will hope to always stay at Norma's!
I had a wonderful stay in Norma's house. It is in a great location and the downtown area is about 20-25 minutes walk away. There's also a regular bus service. Plenty of good cafés, restaurants and stores nearby - including the art museum, Rodin museum and the Barnes Foundation. The house has everything you would need for a city stay and Norma is a wonderful host. This was a great trip!
Norma's house was perfect in every way including location .. So near to our son so it was ideal. The house was great and it was home from home. Thank you Norma and Airbnb
