I love to travel and have travelled a lot throughout North and South America, Australasia, and parts of South and Central Asia. Oh, and a little bit of Southern Africa.
These days my feet are more firmly back on the ground in England. On the edge of the Peak District National Park actually. My wife and I bought a 69ft Narrowboat at the end of last year. A crazy move since we had very little boating experience prior to this. We managed a backpacker hostel in Kaikoura, New Zealand (Albatross Backpacker Inn) which was voted the best hostel in New Zealand by Hostelbookers customers during our year in management. When we returned to the UK we decided that we wanted to carry on hosting adventurous travellers. The canal network is quite a hidden gem. Very few travellers get to see it. This is our way of showing off a very different side to England in a completely unique and fun way. It is our very own concept, nobody else is doing anything like it. We started trading in April 2012 and we love it!!
My wife and I met in Byron Bay in Australia in 2001. Ruth is from Manchester and I am from Hemel Hempstead. We got married in Manchester Town Hall in 2010.
