The vintage atmosphere is really cool
We had a great trip and Z was perfect with us
You can trust in them
Just the location is a little bit fare you have to take a cab or the bus (10 or 15 min from the heart of the city)
It's a nice studio apartment in a great location, right between the Garden District and Uptown. Magazine Street is a ten minute walk, and the streetcar on St. Charles is one block away. The decor is highly creative and the lighting setup is genius. Nice kitchen, nice bathroom. House itself is historic and cool looking, also easy to find with plenty of parking. Zoe was great, she was out of town but checked up regularly to make sure everything was going fine. I would advise that the bed is a futon mattress and it does tend to rattle around a lot if you're moving around on it much.
The studio exceeded my expectations. There aren't many places like this left. The neighborhood was friendly, people tended to have the time to talk to you. Lots of dogs to pet, if desired. The porch was really nice in the evening. Liked it a lot.
Zoe's place was magical, welcoming, quiet, well-lit when it needed to be and in wonderful proximity to the Garden District (Magazine St) and Audobon Park. This is the kind of place that makes Airbnb what it is. Did I spend much of my waking hours in this place? No. Could I have stayed in a hotel in the same neighborhood for maybe the same price or a little more? Maybe, but I wouldn't have had the bone-chilling experience of little eyes on eerie paintings follow me as I walked around the room. I highly recommend this place.
The neighborhood was OK, arrival was easy, and the place was adequate. However, the air-conditioning was a problem--too loud with insufficient capacity for the room size. At the price, it was not a good deal and I would not recommend it.
I will agree that the air-conditioner is a bit noisy though doesn't bother me unless I'm trying to record music, which I do from time to time. It is adequate for me but perhaps not for some folks, at least during the summer months.
Zoe's place was perfect for what we needed , she was easy to communicate with and helped in every way possible . Great stay .
The house, how to explain this mansion of a house and its rustic, classic, old world new orleans style. The pictures do it a half justice! We stayed only one night but immediately wished we had more time. It's spacious and comfy for two, with so much art to look at and architecture, with a back patio and wrap around porch to enjoy a chill drink on, it's the definition of your time in the Big Easy. It's close to everything, we enjoyed Frenchman street, and the Treme. Thanks so much!
My boyfriend & I stayed at Zoe's for three nights while driving through New Orleans. There was plenty of street parking and the house- a beautiful, old Italianate mansion- was within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants, bars, and sights. The apartment itself was a beautiful studio decorated with Victorian lace, assorted animal bones, and other vintage finds. A comfy, handmade, wooden canopy bed and a working AC unit made Zoe's the perfect abode for relaxing after exploring in the summer heat!
I'm sorry about that! Thanks for leaving a nice review despite the oversight!
The host was great, she checked up on us when we were there to make sure we had all we needed. The place was clean and had character. It is close to the trolley. Air conditioning worked well during the hot summer days. Neighbors were friendly.
Had a great 2-night stay during Jazzfest with my boyfriend in Zoe's magical studio. The building is AMAZING, built circa 1860s, converted to individual apartments for WWII veterans in the 1940s, and can best be described as existing in a state of "genteel decay." Seriously, if you're afraid of ghosts, maybe don't stay here. If you love the feeling of walking into a time warp, luxuriating under 16' ceilings and being surrounded by Zoe's thoughtful, instagram worthy vignettes, you will LOVE this place. Thank you for an amazing stay, Zoey!
Just a note: walls here seem to be pretty thin, so if you're a light sleeper, or like to do weird stuff in bed maybe spare yourself the embarrassment and book somewhere else.
Zoe came for a quick overnight stay. She was nice, tidy and clean.
She didn't cause any kink of disturbance. She was really quiet.
she left early the next morning and I wish I was awake to serve her a coffee or a breakfast.
Zoe is most welcome at any time.
Zoe kept clear communication throughout our encounter. She is easy going and pleasant company.
Zoe is an excellent guest! She treated my apartment like it was her own, if not better. Zoe is welcome to stay at my place anytime!
It was a pleasure to host Zoe- a creative and talented musician, a rich and compassionate being and a perfect guest welcome back anytime!
You two were great guests. Thank you for the home tapped maple syrup! Such a treat.
Zoe has a gift for unique decor, provides a beautiful, comfortable clean and organized space. She has always made me feel comfortable in her home.
Zoe is a creative soul and a wonderful individual. I met Zoe a handful of years ago when my daughter introduced us because she wanted to help out on one of Zoe's musical tours. Zoe is warm, generous, thoughtful, and a lot of fun. You will love your visit at Zoe's charming and inviting home, she is a fabulous host!
