I grew up in Michigan and after living in Dallas Texas and Los Angeles California, I have found my true home in Franklin Tennessee! My son Hank and I enjoy bowling and walking our dogs Gibby and Frankie to the park down the street.

Wow!! What an amazing host, location and retreat!! I wish I could give more stars but 5 will have to do!
Sandy is such a sweet and beautiful woman. She's welcoming, warm and super helpful. Her retreat is perfect for a lone traveler or a couple. You are surrounded by trees and you're just mins (on a bike even!) from Franklin's adorable downtown area.
We loved our stay and we will be back! Sandy thank you so much!!!!
We spent two days here after Bonnaroo; what a great way to relax and recover. The studio far exceeded our expectations. Franklin is absolutely adorable. I wish we could have spent a week!
We found Sandy's Retreat while searching for a place to stay during the 2013 Country Music Marathon in Nashville. Sandy's place was AMAZING!! Not only did she make certain that we were all comfortable, but she checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Sandy was an excellent host and the guest house more than exceeded our expectations (we all experienced our best race times EVER!). We can't wait to come back next year for the Country Music Marathon!!
Cute, roomy place located behind Sandy's main house. Very clean, bright light, and perfect for my family and I. Pull out couch was comfortable and the location in town was really centrally located. I would definitely go back.
Wow--where do I even start with this gem of a place? Staying at Sandy's was my first Airbnb experience, and let me just say: She set the bar *high!* She must have been a B&B owner in a previous life, as Sandy genuinely thought of everything that a guest could want or need to have a perfect stay.
I travel more than half of each year for my job, and as I've been in to Franklin every two weeks for work, I got sick of sleeping in an impersonal chain hotel. So I was thrilled to find Sandy's place, which not only was as comfortable as being in my own home, but was also cheaper than the Holiday Inn where I'd previously been staying!
Sandy and her son live in the main house, which she was kind enough to give us a tour of. An early 20th-century home, it was just as idyllic as her backyard bungalow and exactly what I love and find charming about downtown Franklin. It's just a street or two over from West Main and an easy walk to the square, where you'll find Puckett's, 55 South and a number of other great eateries.
The bungalow used to be a music studio that Sandy recently converted into a room-for-rent. As such, everything is brand new (she only opened it up to guests in July 2012) and in fantastic condition. It looks like a page out of an Anthropologie catalog or a suite in a Kimpton hotel or other equally modern and sophisticated boutique.
Pros: Everything. The room is huge, with a sleeping area, a dining area, a kitchenette (complete with dishes, knives, coffee machine, bottled water, a full-sized fridge, the works), a spacious bathroom, and a living room area with a table and reclining leather sofa. The backyard is bigger than a football field; there's a lovely porch and swing that overlooks it and a stream in the far corner. It's the best of both worlds: Having a quiet, country retreat while still being in a city. The price is completely reasonable and affordable.
Sandy didn't neglect a thing when outfitting the suite; there was a bevy of bath amenities (shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, hair dryer, etc.), an iron, board games and more. There's also a TV with a DVR (a huge bonus as my husband and I were able to record the Olympics and watch them once we returned from our meetings) and high-speed wireless Internet. She also has a pair of precious, mid-sized scrappy dogs who greet you when you arrive. They are as friendly as can be and don't make a sound (other than to pant at you until you pet them!).
I absolutely would stay here again, in a heartbeat. In fact, I plan on coming back to Franklin soon only to have the pleasure of booking Sandy's place, and I definitely will be pointing all my friends visiting Tennessee to this beautiful retreat, as well. I just hope that doesn't mean it's booked next time I need a weekend away!
My wife and I stayed at Sandy's for two full weeks, and she could not have been more gracious. The room was spotless and comfortably decorated. We enjoyed the extra privacy and huge back yard, along with bike rides to and from downtown Franklin. Highly recommended!
Fabulous location! Cosy, clean, and well-furnished. Exceptional bathroom with new fixtures. The stand-alone building offers privacy, and the large windows overlook a beautiful, quiet backyard. Large and lovely porch, complete with hammock. Very peaceful, and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Undoubtedly my best AirBnB experience to date.
