The stay of my parents at Sunny's was very nice. The host more than once offered to bring anything they might need and even collected plums from her own tree and left them at my parents disposal. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly. I would absolutely recommend the place.
We spent some days in Seetha's little coach house and absolutely loved it. It's big enough for two, it's cosy, cute and perfectly clean, and it has everything one could wish for. The garden is wonderfully quiet and jungle-esque (that rosemary is incredible!). There are several convenient ways to get to central London; we preferred taking DLR to the Cutty Sark and then boarding a Thames Clipper to Westminster. Using Oyster Cards (which Seetha and Walter kindly lent us) it's not even that expensive.
Talking of Seetha and Walter: They're great hosts. Always friendly and there when you need them. And for German visitors: Die beiden sprechen nicht nur ein bißchen Deutsch, sondern wirklich perfekt.
Summary: The coach house is an absolutely fantastic place to stay when visiting London. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your great review! We really look forward to meeting up with you both again in Schloss Vollrads. Hope you have a lovely summer.
Sunny was a very welcoming and hospitable host. The coach house is lovely and very well-equipped.
It is a very quiet spot and Brockley is a great place to stay in London. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Seetha and Walter were both lovely hosts, very easy to contact and eager to make sure that there were no problems. They made us feel very at home and welcome. The accommodation was exactly as we had expected, everything was clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. We loved having the outside space and it was very quiet and peaceful. We already knew the area and wanted to rent here. The property is very close to Brockley station which is in zone 2 and on the London Overground line. You can also park in the street. There are good places to eat nearby and Brockley market on Saturday morning has lots of lovely food. Ideal if you are looking for a quiet base in London with easy access to the city centre.
As promised, the house was a lovely, quiet retreat away from the city. It was clean, comfortable, and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. It was a quick walk to a grocery store and the overground station. Towels, a hairdryer, fruit, and milk were all provided. I highly recommend this listing!
The garden cottage was absolutely adorable, and we were very comfortable there for the week. Seetha was responsive and checked in on us to make sure everything was ok. Highly recommended.
I did the booking for my friend this is what she said:
"Sunny and Walter were delightful hosts and the apartment was cozy, welcoming, thoughtfully planned, and perfect for quiet rest and relaxation before a week of busy training. I would return in a heart beat!"
from Ruth King June 2014
from me: Sunny was very kind and accommodating to some particular requests, and I knew my friend would be in good hands.
ENGLISH For my first visit to London I could not ask for more! The cottage is exactly like the pictures: cozy and well equipped. The place is extremely quiet and peaceful, but well stocked with all kinds of shops and especially a few minutes from the center of London, easily accessible by bus, train and subway. The fastest way is by train (15 minutes for/from London Bridge station). At the station Brokley stop is that the trains underground, there are all kinds of city maps (for free) and the staff is very friendly. For those coming from Gatwick advice to avoid taking the Gatwick Express, and choose the normal train (change at East Croydon): the cost is half and it takes half the time.
But what I will never forget are the hosts Seetha and Walter, two wonderful people who made me feel at home. Friendly, helpful and considerate as I rarely have come across, have proved two real friends who can not wait to see again! Thank you very much for the wonderful stay.
Thank you Massimo for your kind words. We enjoyed spending time with you and we look forward to welcoming you next time with your wife.
I loved staying in Seetha's garden flat! It was absolutely perfect for my visit - I was in London for 2 weeks for work, and it was a great base.
The flat was comfortable and clean, and surrounded by a stunning garden, and she provided lots of amenities like a hair dryer, which was great. It did get hot while I was staying, but there was a fan and it kept the place cool.
The bathroom is tiny, but has everything you need! The kitchen had all the pots/pans and dishes you might want.
It's definitely worth noting that it is a half hour or more journey into central London, but I'd absolutely say that it's worth it for the great value and lovely place to stay!
I'd recommend this place as a wonderful place to stay in London, and hope to stay there again soon!
Thank you too! I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay despite the odd welcome that you received ;-)
I very much look forward to having you stay again.
I booked this lovely house for my parents because of all the great reviews it had received. Yes, overall it did live unto our expectations!
However here are some PROS and CONS
- to have a lovely little cottage-life in London is hard to find with all the green around, it has a very peaceful, relaxed vibe.
- The cottage is very well equipped and makes for a great stay for a long period.
- Seetha is really helpful and hospitable, it was a true pleasure interacting with her!
- the BATHROOM is really really small, please make it bigger, Seetha :)
It is very difficult to have a shower without bumping yourself or knocking things over!
- for those not familiar to London, it will take you 1 hour, 30 min each way if you want to go to central London. (door to door)
- the garden wasn't well kept during my parent's stay.
Unfortunately, the gardener was on holiday at the time of your parents' stay
It was great to host Walter, a very polite and interesting person, he is welcome to return anytime.
Seetha and Walter are fantastic hosts and we cannot thank them enough for taking on our family of five although they would normally only accommodate three persons at a stretch. We slept on a very comfortable sofa bed and our two grown-up children pitched their tent on the lawn in the huge garden that is like a mini park. Our third child was accommodated on an air bed in the studio space. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice, it is simply beautiful. It is quiet and green, almost like being in the countryside, but in the middle of London! It is rare to find hosts that are as enthusiastic and passionate about the town in which they live. We were introduced to local pubs, shops and restaurants and provided with oyster cards and maps for our trips into town and our day trip to Brighton. Seetha invited us to her exhibition opening in Vyner Street, so we not only got to see her work, but also a hip part of London, buzzing with artists, that we may not have seen otherwise. We were also invited to their annual summer garden party which coincided with our stay in London. The accommodation itself is clean and spacious with all the amenities that are required for a short stay in London. The location is unique with easy access to everything in London. This cottage would definitely be value for money. We were really sad to leave after staying here for two weeks but we will definitely be back. We only wish the weather had been as accommodating and friendly as our hosts. We highly recommend this wonderful place, a home from home, to other guests.
