I would just like to move into the garden coach house and stay forever. Seetha and Walter are the perfect hosts and the house is just what I like - a beautiful space just for me in a garden but yet within easy reach of the city. It is bigger in real life than on the photos and for spring and summer the terrace will be wonderful. As it was November I used the terrace less but I had fresh apples from the tree each morning :)
Seetha and Walter were very friendly and accommodating. Since I had written that I had caught a cold, Seetha left lemons and honey in the kitchen, and pre-heated the coach house. It was no problem that my arrival was relatively late in the evening, and also no problem on the last day--since I had an evening flight out--to leave my bag behind for a later pickup so I didn't have to drag it along all day. She also texted a couple of times to make sure I was warm enough and had everything I needed. And at one time or another I had amiable conversations with both Walter and Seetha.
Brockley is a quiet residential neighborhood; it's well off the beaten tourist path--I chose the area because I was visiting a nearby college.
The coach house is exactly as pictured; it's behind the main house, and situated in a a garden. There's not a long view from the place, but the light is good (as makes sense, since it is also Seetha's art studio).
The coach house is suitable for one or a couple. Some of the systems--e.g. heat, shower--are a little quirky, but there is a clear sheet of instructions provided, and everything worked fine.
In sum, I had a very quiet and comfortable stay, and would recommend the place to anyone who is not looking for a room at the Marriott.
I had a wonderful stay in the Garden Coach House. Sunny was a wonderful host who so friendly and helpful and provided little extras like snacks and milk and towels. I was also able to pick apples off the tree in the garden!
The Coach House is adorable and comfortable. It is very pleasant and private. It is a great place for someone who wants to be in London but without all the noise and busy-ness. Brockley is a really nice area though it can be confusing to get back to late at night if you aren't good with buses. Sunny gives details of night buses on the information sheet but I forgot this and also managed to miss my stop! The location is very convenient with the overground really close by at one of end of the street and at the other end there are bus stops and a Tesco Express.
The Coach House can be a little chilly if you are there alone in winter, but I'm sure that in a couple you would be fine. Sunny also provided a gas heater and blankets and there is underfloor heating in the conservatory. The bed was very comfortable and I was nice and snug on a night.
It was a real pleasure to arrive into Seetha and Walter house. The garden house is furnished with everything you may need and the garden is the perfect complement to the house.
The house is located in a berry quiet area but has easy access to public transportation.
Along with a beautiful house, you find find two exceptional people.
The Coach House was a great experience for me as a first time Airbnb'er. It was exactly as described on the site with the added bonus of privacy and quiet. We stayed for four nights in October and the coach house was warm, bright and cosy. Brockley is a very central location so this is a perfect spot if you want to explore London by day and chill by night.
Had a fantastic 2 days in Sunny s Coach House. Wonderful to meet her and her husband, they were so friendly and helpful, really enjoyed going out for a drink with them too!
The coach house is very comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay. Wifi worked great, heating did the job and the location in the back yard was perfect from a privacy perspective! Highly recommended, you will have a great stay!
Great place to stay if you want to be in London but don't want the chaos of being in a large city. Seetha was very accommodating and a gracious hostess! The accommodations themselves was good for two people, though the shower might be a bit tight if you're tall. The garden was beautiful, and we had some nice sunny days to eat meals outside on the patio. The rest of the time was spent in the Conservatory, complete with sound system and heated floors.
The house itself is located very close to the rail station, which you can then get to central London relatively quickly. In addition, if you fancy a short walk, you can walk to Greenwich and explore that area as well.
Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay at the coach house and will be looking at coming back again if we're ever back in London.
Sunny and Seetha's place was a delightful place to stay. Full of character and with a homely feeling it is peaceful, comfortable and spacious. Being at the back of a large and lovely garden it is quite private, not to mention having the simple pleasure of being able to sit outside and enjoy nature. All of this is a 5 minute walk to a frequent train service that gets you to Central London in no time.
Seetha was great to deal with and she is is a lovely and helpful person.
The Garden House is very much as advertised and very well equipped for one or two people to stay and have some meals in if they wish. Manor Avenue itself is an extremely attractive residential road in the Brockley conservation area and close to two stations with fast rail links into Central London, plus numerous buses - so it's easy to get wherever you want. It's great to have access to an outdoor space, and to quiet, especially at night. The house itself has relatively high ceilings - perhaps it was an old carriage house? Plus skylights, so there is a lot of light even on grey London days! The heating is good and it's great to have an extra calor gas heater to take the chill off damp English mornings. The bathroom is small and you access it through french doors to the attached studio. Seetha is happy for guests to use her studio sink which is much bigger than the sink in the bathroom, so that helps. Only concern is dealing with the bathroom in the winter - might be cold because studio doesn't seem to be heated - but Seetha is very concerned her guests are comfortable and very willing to come up with solutions. You only have to ask. Garden House is only for guests so Seetha is always nearby to help and provide directions if you need them. A great place to be independent, have space and time for quiet, explore London, and explore the local scene - a number of pubs, cafes and a couple of really good restaurants within walking distance - not to mention all that's going on in nearby Nunhead, Peckham and Dulwich
It's perfect for a city trip. Seetha, the host, is extremely friendly and answered the questions I had. I stayed for 3 nights and it was great. The location is perfect, few minutes from the overground station and you are in no time in the center of London. I would recommend this to anyone who has plans to visit the sights in London.
Seetha and Walter are fantastic hosts and we cannot thank them enough for taking on our family of five although they would normally only accommodate three persons at a stretch. We slept on a very comfortable sofa bed and our two grown-up children pitched their tent on the lawn in the huge garden that is like a mini park. Our third child was accommodated on an air bed in the studio space. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice, it is simply beautiful. It is quiet and green, almost like being in the countryside, but in the middle of London! It is rare to find hosts that are as enthusiastic and passionate about the town in which they live. We were introduced to local pubs, shops and restaurants and provided with oyster cards and maps for our trips into town and our day trip to Brighton. Seetha invited us to her exhibition opening in Vyner Street, so we not only got to see her work, but also a hip part of London, buzzing with artists, that we may not have seen otherwise. We were also invited to their annual summer garden party which coincided with our stay in London. The accommodation itself is clean and spacious with all the amenities that are required for a short stay in London. The location is unique with easy access to everything in London. This cottage would definitely be value for money. We were really sad to leave after staying here for two weeks but we will definitely be back. We only wish the weather had been as accommodating and friendly as our hosts. We highly recommend this wonderful place, a home from home, to other guests.
