We did stay for 2 nights at Las Calas and I had a hard time leaving again:)
Nestled in a huge garden full with Orange and Mandarin trees the hotel makes one feel like having arrived in a Garden Eden. The estate has one main house and many smaller bungalows and breathes the atmosphere of another time. We did stay in a room in the "main" house - well actually it was two rooms and a bathroom. Shining hardwood floors leading down to a stone arched wooden door entering in a huge living room, wooden doors opening up to the spacious sleeping room, both with hardwood floors too ( I simply loved this floor, I even took picture of it:) and high wood decorated ceilings, the bathroom offered two sinks, huge walk- in shower, a bidet and through the window you could see the most beautiful mandarin trees. I simply loved it!!
Throughout the whole house you find small cosy lounge areas as well as two "saloons", all decorated with love and taste, the perfect spots to enjoy a morning read, check your emails or have a cup of tea after dinner.
The house has a nice dining room with two huge tables for communal dining - directly next to an open kitchen, which gives you the feeling of being guest at a family. At both nights we did choose to have dinner prepared for us, which we did enjoy very much. They did go out their ways to accommodate our special needs - we are both vegans - offering a whole 3 course vegan menu just for us and making sure we also have vegan choices for breakfast.
If you are going to Las Calas, also make sure to try their homegrown Mandarins - they remind me of what mandarins did taste when I was a child, long before all this tasteless fruits have been introduced to the supermarkets.
We can highly recommend a stay at Hotel Las Calas!!
