Michael was a real nice guy, despite the fact he had plans to visit his family, he welcomed me in, showed me around the flat, and gave me a spare key so I could get in at night , as I had planned to be out till late
I am planning another stopover in London in the near future, and would certainly book with Michael again
I stayed in Michael's flat for 9 days on dec 2013 with my wife and my 2 y.o. child. We all enjoyed the stay very much, all was perfect for us.
Michael was very patient to answer my many questions. The flat was exactly how we expected it. The king size bed is a dream to sleep on it, you can sleep while watching the stars through the big window, in a complete silence. The neighborhood is very very quiet and during the night simply there is NO noise of any kind. I slept like a baby and in the mornings I always felt well rested and ready to go.
The kitchen is fully-functional and with a big counter to work on it.
The bathroom is nice and convenient to use.
The living room has 2 sofa, one of them is big where you can easily fall asleep.
There are two bedrooms, one is small with a 1 standard bed, the other is big with a king size (or even bigger) bed, a real masterpiece. Three people can sleep on it easily.
The heating is very efficient: you soon realize it's better to lower its temperature or to switch it off, otherwise the house get hot.
I had a car and drove lots and lots of miles in London and around London. I was a postman many years ago and so I love to explore almost all the streets when I go to a new city, so I explored almost every mile in London and I got the feeling that Highgate is among the best 2 ot 3 places to live in London for people like me who don't like to live in the chaos of the city center. For the records, my favourite place was Hampstead Heath and the streets around there, like Parliament Hill, wich is very near to Highgate.
The underground station is a 10 minutes walk, a good way to start the day, letting the blood run and breathing clean air beside Queen's Wood.
Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.
All in all a very good experience, we felt like home.

Top! Michael is a very nice host and contact with him was easy and comfortable. His welcome was very friendly and easy going and the apartment better than everything we had expected! Very charming old & original decor & design, comfortable rooms, great kitchen & bathroom. Very centrally situated - we had a 5-8 minute walk only to the historical centre.
We very much enjoyed our time and would have loved to stay longer!

A really beautiful apartment that suited our needs during a recent trip to Gent. It is true to photos and is ideally located for exploring the nearby city. The bathroom is massive and contains both a shower and large bathtub to relax in after a day of sightseeing. We stayed here during cold spell but were nice and cosy in the apartment . The large modern kitchen contained all essentials for cooking but we mostly ate out.
Michael is the most gracious host and went over and above the call of duty to ensure our trip went smoothly, he is a great person in every way and his humor and easy going manner removed any awkwardness there might have been.
We totally enjoyed our experience in spite of the road works and cold weather mainly due to our host Michael who excelled in every way.
The APARTMENT is very spacious and the lay out ensures privacy. Additionally it is well located and allows for easy exploration of the city. The HOST, Michael, is informed and easy going. The private BATHROOM is luxurious and contains both a bathtub and a shower. Furthermore, there is a good supply of hot water because of hot-water-on-demand system. OTHER.. It is very convenient to have access to both the kitchen and the washing machine. Please note that although the bed is very comfortable you may need ear plugs for sleeping as the streets can be noisy with the road construction that will take a couple months to complete. For light sleepers, eye covers are recommended as it is brighter in the room as one window lacks window dressing. I would stay there again. A very nice stay overall.
This apartment is true to its photos and advertisement: centrally-located, pretty and old-worldish, yet with modern kitchen, lovely bath and wifi. It was perfect for me and my two daughters (although we missed a couch, and some with kids might miss a TV), and a true a 5-minute walk to the city center. Michael was also helpful and laid back, providing us with maps and recommendations. A lovely place to stay in Ghent!
The place was very clean, cozy, and well-located. Michael met us and showed us around the apartment, even giving us a map and advice for places to go for dinner. The apartment is a really nice place to come back to after a day of sightseeing and worked perfectly for our group of three.
Really nice house, large room , good bed and spacious bathroom. We could take what ever we wanted. The place is on a good walking distance from city center for which they gave good advise for dinner and drinks!
Michael is an interesting guy. He was polite and sociable and even provided me with some great advice for my upcoming trip to Brussels. My travel plans and our conflicting schedules kept contact to a minimum, but all-in-all he was an easy person to host.
Michael was a very nice guest, he is a really calm, friendly guy. Unfortunately he was also slightly unreliable and irresponsible. He left my garden door wide open over night and the entire next day which resulted in my cat getting lost. She is now gone. I know this is a mistake that can happen to anyone, but I am very upset about this and would not invite Michael over again.
It was a pleasure to host Michael and his girlfriend.
Very clean and respectfull people.
Michael was a great guest. Very polite and helpfull. Nice company.
It was nice to have Michael and his friend over as our guests. They are very friendly people, and left the room very clean. I do hope to see them again in Bruges.
Michael is a very pleasant guy, he decides spontaneously, and thanks to Airbnb's phone button we were able to postpone his trip and he arrived one day later than initially scheduled. He is a very understanding.
This is the perfect guest. I f all of my guests where like that, i'd open a hotel next week ! We wish the couple very much succes in Gent!
Michael was a great guest, he was pleasant and kind, left the apartment clean. and had respected the time of check-in and check-out . A highly recommended guest! Looking forward to host you again in my house. Thank you Tina
