Kate was very welcoming - and helpful with directions as I was a bit muddled and had no GPS. Room was quiet, a bit on the cold side for me but warm blankets and a wool covered, hot water bottle provided by Kate made for a very cozy bed and deep sleep. Breakfast was typical - muesli, yogurt, fresh fruit, croissant and coffee/tea - all tasty. A genial host and convenient room in the center of active town of Blairgowrie. Recommended.
Kate was really welcoming and nice.
She gave us some advices to find an excellent restaurant and she was helpful for everything else.
I highly recommended this place.
See you soon :)
We had a good stay with Kate and Duncan in Blairgowrie. Kate was very friendly and made us a cup of tea on arrival which was nice and welcoming. We asked for a couple of restaurant recommendations and we ended up at Little’s, a short walk away and fantastic fresh fare, the best restaurant during our stay by far! We were given a key to give us flexible access and there was parking on her drive. They are in the centre of Blairgowrie, so very convenient.
The room was big and the bed was comfortable. Natasha feels the cold but after coming in from dinner we were comfortably warm. On our way in from dinner Kate and Duncan invited us in for a chat and we enjoyed talking to them and learning about their professions as an artist and author respectively. Duncan’s 2nd book is just about to be published and it was great to hear about the motivations for his writing.
Breakfast was simple with muesli, croissant and tea overlooking their lovely garden. Kate and Duncan’s place is a great base for anyone looking to stay in Blairgowrie. It’s in a great location for hiking and for seeing several sights such as Glamis Castle and the castle where Macbeth met his end (best viewed with a copy of Macbeth in hand according to Kate and Duncan).
The quality of the coffee at breakfast is a good indicator of a place unfortunately you only discover this at the end of the first (or perhaps only) night. In Kate's case the coffee was truly excellent as was everything else about the stay. I have stayed in several Airbnbs and this was by far the best for a number of reasons.
the welcome was as though I was coming home - there was an immediate rapport ably aided and abbetted by the offer of tea and assistance with mislaid keys.
Kate and Duncan were excellent hosts; wine and conversation kept us all going until far too late.
The room was large and the bed extremely comfortable so a good nights sleep promised.
As I said, the breakfast coffee was excellent and the rest of breakfast just what was needed. This is the first time I have been offered Breakfast at an Airbnb (which seems strange for a bed and breakfast offer!) and very welcome too.
I cannot thank Kate enough for the stay and if she will have me I would stay again to explore some of the area.
Great stay ! Duncan was there to warmly welcome us to our spacious and confortable room. Highly recommended.
I had a lovely time in the summerhouse, located at the back of Kate's garden. Even though it was the beginning of October it was pleasantly warm due to a provided heater and the hot water bottle she brought me. The house is located by the bus station, which connects Blairgowrie to Perth and Dundee. There was nothing I lacked during my stay and I would recommend this listing to anyone : )
Cosy warm and comfortable bed. Lovely garden. Sweet house :) Delicious breakfast. Good parking and food shopping possibilities. Maybe a bit too cold but this depends on yourself.
My husband and I had a pleasant, comfortable stay with Kate in her lovely home. Interesting and open discussions were had. We would thoroughly recommend you make a stop 'chez Kate'.!
Kate was a very welcoming and friendly host who was available when needed but also respected our privacy. The quiet room we stayed in was large, with a comfortable double bed and has been lovingly decorated so you really feel like you're in a family home. The house is quite big and has got a great shower room and a stunning conservatory in which our filling and nicely prepared breakfast was served. Breakfast was cereal, fresh Scottish berries and fresh croissants which was very enjoyable. The house is right next to the Blairgowrie bus station which makes public transport really easy, and the lovely town itself has a variety of restaurants and cafes to offer, not to forget the foot path along the river. We recommend a cycle tour to Pitlochry via Dunkeld, which are both picturesque villages. Kate gave us also helpful tips for restaurants as well as for our next stop, Dundee. Overall, we would definitely recommend staying with Kate and exploring the landscape and attractions Blairgowrie has to offer.
We spend only one quick night but it was OK. Nice people and nice bed.
It was a pleasure hosting both Kate and Duncan. They were friendly and polite. Good communication maintained throughout. They kept our place tidy and abide to the house ruled. we look forward to welcoming them back anytime in the future.
It was lovely having Kate and Duncan to stay, thank you for visiting to Ardnamurchan. Considerate and clean guests. Welcome back anytime.
