I am an avid hiker and camper. Figured out a long time ago that a gym was not the way I would ever get exercise. My husband Tim and I can be found most weekends working in the yard, which is gradually turning into everything being edible. Now that all three of my daughters are in their 20s, we have some extra space and we like meeting people from all over. Our favorite trips are those where we are able to make connections with people -- like the beekeeper in Rossbeigh, County Kerry, Ireland. His honey was so good that we carried 11 1-lb. jars home with us stuffed in my daughters' dirty socks. We have 2 dogs, Rudy (miniature poodle) and Charley (greyhound), and a cat, Maddie.
When not engaging in activities related to the above, I am the Head of School at a school I founded for kids who have been treated for substance abuse/addiction. Tim sings with the Opera Company of Philadelphia and is a member of the Philadelphia Singers, the choral group that works with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
We are both members of Slow Food, enjoy cooking as well as eating, and believe in sustainable agriculture. Especially of interest to us are the many restaurants in Philadelphia that now feature farm to table fare, and we are most happy to share restaurant recommendations with you if you ask.
