The apartment is great and offers a lovely view over the city! The streets are very narrow so you should consider taking a smaller car or choosing the steps instead. We had great time and would definitely recommend the place.

No funciona el Internet, estuve tres días y no conseguí que me dieran la clave para conectarme a internet, lo cual para mi era vital en mi visita a Niza.

The apartment is beautiful and the view is amazing! There are A LOT of stairs to get up to the apartment but it's all worth it. Overall great experience.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE RENTING THIS APT ARE: DO YOU SPEAK ENOUGH FRENCH TO FIND OUT THE DETAILS OF HOW TO GET OFF THE HIGH HILL ON WHICH THIS APT SITS, HOW TO LOCATE MARKETS WITHIN EASY DISTANCE, WHERE ARE THE BUS STOPS, HOW TO ACCESS THE BEACH AND OTHER AREAS OF NICE. THE SECOND IMPORTANT THING IS TO BE IN VERY GOOD PHYSICAL CONDITION SO YOU CAN WALK THE HILLS ON WHICH THIS PART OF NICE RESTS.
The host seemed like decent enough chap; just didn't speak any English. (Communications between us were accomplished using Internet translation programs since we did not speak any French.) These programs weren't available face to face, so while Shadie seemed like a nice enough chap, he couldn't tell us anything about now to access the Internet, find a bus stop, get to the commercial or old town of Nice, where to buy groceries (NOTHING was furnished- no tea bags, sugar, bottled water, etc), how to get off the hill on which his apartment sat. Bath linens were not provided. Location prevented access to mobile phone use. NO ONE in the 4 unit building spoke English, including Shadie & his family. While the unit was clean and the view (if it hadn't been dark & pouring rain) lovely, the language describing the apt's location was disingenuous if not totally misleading (.5 ks to nearest store "as the crow flies"). A hinge on one of the bathroom cabinets was already broken in what was a substantially new build out. The shower head had no bracket and was leaking from the hose. Most of the bathroom light fixtures weren't working. All the ceiling lights were bare bulbs hanging from wires. The description of bathrooms was misleading - we had specially asked if there were two and he replied yes. In fact there was one split bath - 1 toilet separated from one sink/ tub & shower. Because our stop in Nice was at the beginning of a month's journey through France to the boot of Italy, and we failed to dispute timely the apt's description before leaving after 1 day ( having paid for 4), we forfeited the entire fee of $576. When we returned home, I did appeal to Shadie to split the rent on the unused 3 nights ($216.) but he declined to do that. An expensive lesson for retired folks but one we won't forget!
The place was exactly as it looks and the place had a big balcony with a beautiful view over Nice. We didn't have a car and the bus stopped about 5 minutes from the house. The bus runs every 40 minutes and stops running at about 8:30pm however the walk isn't too bad. About 30 minutes uphill from the centre and my 60yo mum was able to do it quite comfortably. We were checked in by Shadies family and english wasn't great but enough to get by. Overall a very comfortable clean modern apartment and the view is worth the uphill hike
