Divorced (not my choice) dad of two teens, I enjoy meeting new people. I had a room listed with airbnb in my home in California and hosted lots of wonderful people. I now live in Sparks (adjacent to Reno) NV and am already on my 6th airbnb hosting in the Reno area.
I like to work on projects around the house, work out, swim, play and coach soccer and mentoring youth generally. I often get involved with youth at church through youth group or VBS in the summer. I used to teach middle school and loved it. I enjoy meeting new people... and also keep to myself as appropriate to your preference and needs.
I have a BA in music from Oberlin College (Ohio) and a law degree from UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall School of Law). If you want to check me out as an actual attorney, you can check out my official status (I'm retired/inactive) by doing a search for 'ca attorney search 98452' (airbnb blanks out all website addresses).
I enjoy following global financial markets and do some trading from time to time. I watch lots of movies. My most recent favorite TV series is Black Orphan (available on Amazon Prime, but not Netflix).
My motto is "Love Never Dies"
My guidelines for living are love people, forgive them and enjoy their company.... and, oh, yes, never live in the past. Take time to smell the roses. XD
I enjoy introducing people to the awesome place I love so much: the Reno/Tahoe area. Sunny, clear blue skies most of the time; incredible views of snow on the mountains (but not on the streets). My apartment home is probably the best in the entire Reno area, and I love it. The grounds are kept up like a park, and it has a pool, spa (in season) and 24/7 gym year-round.. There's so much to do here: the Truckee Riverwalk area downtown (and of course lots of casinos if you like to gamble), the Riverwalk (Truckee River) downtown; dozens of hiking trails; anything snow-related at nearby Tahoe. I especially like the Pyramid Lake Reservation, which is absolutely gorgeous and almost always has no one in sight. You can buy real fireworks there, drive right down to the lake (and in it if you want) and set off the fireworks there. (My 14 year old son LOVED it!) There's just so much to do here and the people are super friendly.
** PLEASE NOTE THAT THE 7 REVIEWS PRIOR TO NOV. 2013 WERE FROM MY OLD HOUSE IN CALIFORNIA (where there was a shared bath detached from the room). In my current home, you will have your own private bedroom and bathroom. Also my nickname is Jakob, but in California I used by legal first name, Andrew, which is the name referred to in the California reviews.
