I am an accountant splitting time between Chicago and the great state of Iowa. I keep a very simple, yet clean apartment.
Awesome place to stay! Very clean and great atmosphere. Jon is a very good host.
It was nice to be back again. Thank you!
Response from Jonathan:
Thanks Galyna. You have been an extraordinary guest.
Me and my friends are really enjoyed staying at Jon's apartment. It was very clean and comfy as described. Location is great. Heart of art community with a plenty of nice bars and restaurants around.
Jon (email hidden). We got a complimentary wine and some food which was a nice addition to our pleasant trip. Communication was easy and helpful. Thanks a lot.
I'm sure be back again and will recommend it my friends visiting Chicago.
P.S. Apartment is small but neat with a full size bed. Perfect for one or two people. Nice urban view made it even better.
Pilsen, where the apartment is located, is a very interesting community that we would not have gotten to experience if we were in the hotel corridor of downtown Chicago. It is mainly Mexican and there are a lot of artists in the neighborhood. The apartment is beautiful, clean, and everything you need. The building is very industrial in feel but not cold. The view of the train tracks is endlessly fascinating and the noise is not at all bothersome, even when sleeping with the windows open.
Jonathan is very responsive and did more than we ever expected to make us feel comfortable and get us oriented to the neighborhood and his home. My husband and I stayed in the apartment and the bed, a full-size, was more than large enough and very comfortable.
From the L stop at 18th Street on the Pink Line it is about a 3/4 mile walk to the building. Getting downtown by train takes about 15-20 minutes, the trains are frequent and the neighborhood walk is safe even late at night.
Book this apartment, you won't be sorry.
Jonathan was an awesome host! His description of the space and his directions were exact. When questions did arise, he was easily accessible. The quiet space (even with the trains) was a welcome respite after a long day touring the city; the view from the balcony was a bonus!
Great apartment; we hardly heard the trains and watching them in the evening was kind of like watching a campfire (mesmerizing). The apartment is well-designed for guests and was very comfortable. Jon was a fantastic communicator and made our stay easy to coordinate. His tips about local restaurants were great, too! Thanks again!
Jonathan (email hidden)! His studio was literally perfect for our stay. It's small but has just the amount you need. Doesn't have tv or internet but we didnt need it since we were out exploring Chicago from day and night. Location was close to downtown which was very convenient. Thank you Jonathan!
We couldn't have asked for a better stay for our first time in Chicago. My husband and I were there for work but got to enjoy many of the wonderful things the city has to offer. Jonathan was not only graciously hospitable, opening his home to us like family - we felt completely comfortable there - but he was also accessible at any time we needed him to ask a question about food recommendations or anything else. Also, my husband is a bit of a clean freak, and Jon's accommodations GREATLY exceeded anything we could have asked for, even in a hotel! Thanks Jon!!
Response from Jonathan:
You guys were awesome and thank you for your kind words. I am a neat freak as well so your comments are (website hidden), Jon.
My parents came to town to visit for a weekend and Jonathan's place was the perfect accommodations for them. Jonathan met me beforehand and allowed me to inspect the apartment which was very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. My parents were both very happy. They plan on staying again for their next visit.
Our stay at Jon's apartment was perfect and exactly what my boyfriend and I were looking for for our trip to Chicago. We brought our bikes to Chicago which made it easy to get around and explore Chicago's scene from Jon's place. Jon was extremely accommodating; he mailed us the apartment keys well in advance, was available by phone at any moment, and gave us tips on where to park, eat, etc which made visiting chicago a breeze. Jon's place was exactly how he described it, except for the fact we could hardly hear the trains! We couldn't have asked (email hidden)! Thanks again Jon!
Jonathan's place was exactly what he described. It was small, but cozy, and perfect for two people. The location is a little gritty if you're not used to the city, but it was great for getting back and forth to downtown, and Jon was incredibly hospitable. He gave us some great advice for transportation as well as some good recommendations in the area.
We didn't need a TV or internet, since we spent most of our trip exploring the city, but this place was a nice little haven for us to return to each night. He was also incredibly understanding in getting us the keys, especially when our travel day took a turn for the worse.
Thanks again Jon!
