Creative roots and business education combine in a smart, well-traveled individual. With strong mid-western American roots, I also retain the hospitality of my formative years in the South. I have lived throughout the United States and the echo of my former homes is sometimes noticeable in my accent (especially if you have the ear of Henry Higgins). I love live theatre and enjoy riding the LA Subway system downtown to partake in this cultural outing as a long-standing season ticket holder.
At home, I indulge my passion for gardening although it has taken time to adapt to the semi-tropical and arid climate which is not always conducive to my more temperate heritage. My landscaping was featured on HGTV and I continue to adjust the environment as any gardener knows there is no such thing as "finished." Some of the features of the landscape are a nod to my Japanese ancestry although it takes great coaxing to get Japanese maples to survive in my zone!
A cooking enthusiast, I also represent The Pampered Chef as an Independent Sales Director and have every item in the product line. Food is love and I happily partake of everything. My philosophy can be summed up in the statement: "Dessert is the punctuation mark to a delicious meal."
I love board and card games, am desperately trying to learn Spanish (a helpful language in LA) and try to hike in the beautiful Santa Monica mountain chain on a semi-regular basis. I enjoy travel and have done much domestically and internationally, but there is no limit on too much! I prefer things that are off the beaten-path and prefer locals over tourist traps. That's part of why I live where I do -- it's not the typical LA cliche...though I have easy access to everything that is a signature trademark of the southern California lifestyle.
