Fabulous apartment in a quiet, convenient and beautiful location. Close to Central Park, the amazing Fairways supermarket and deli, a cheap laundrette and two Subway lines. The apartment was clean, spacious and suited our family of four very well during our two week stay. The airconditioning worked well and we were very comfortable. Only a couple of minor irritations - one of the lilos in the loft went down overnight and had to be pumped up each day and there were not enough bowls in the kitchen for four people. Although we didn't meet Joseph he was very efficient to deal with and went out of his way to be pleasant and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience and a fantastic base to experience it all from!
We had a great time at JP's apartment. Located in a lovely part of NYC. Proximity to Central Park is outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for a week as a family in April and had a positive experience. This was a very roomy, comfortable 1 bedroom apartment with roomy living room, high ceilings and a loft. The positives were the spaciousness, cleanliness and comfortable queen-sized bed with plenty of linens, towels provided. Our two kids LOVED the loft which they felt was their own private clubhouse. They slept on an air mattress which we needed to blow up with provided pump a few times during our stay. We loved the great leather couches and nice dining area and nice-sized kitchen with full-sized refrigerator, dishes, utensils and most needed basic items for cooking. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker but there was nice instant coffee and a French press.
The negatives were lack of elevator and having to lug our suitcases up two flights of steps. Also the cable TV signal was not quite working properly. The sound would go in and out sometimes. We had a problem with getting TV signal once and emailed Joseph, our host. He responded the next day. Good thing we had already figured out how to fix the problem. There was also some confusion at the end of the visit on who to turn in the key to. We had picked it up at a local establishment initially one block away and were told to call a maid re: drop off of the key. When we did so she said we should just leave the key where we had picked it up so that was an unnecessary phone call and it would have been better to advise of that initially. Overall some minor communication difficulties with our host. Also we didn't realize there was no DVD player in the apartment so advise bringing a portable one.
However, overall the fabulous quiet and safe location on the upper West side 1/2 block from Central Park and only a few blocks South of the Natural History Museum and great amenities made up for these minor problems. The apartment is close to Trader Joe's where we got our food supplies for the week--excellent suggestion by Joseph. Also we highly recommend the Muffin Caffe very nearby on 70th and Columbus for excellent coffee in the mornings.
We would recommend this apartment and would stay there again in the future.
the apartment was spacious and a great location especially if you're going to Lincoln Center...great restaurants in the area and would stay there again
My husband and I stayed at J. P's apt for five nights. The apt is spacious, and very comfortable. It was very clean, and uncluttered. We felt very "at home" there. The location is outstanding - close to two subways, busses, Central Park, Lincoln Center, UWS shops and restaurants. I was worried about the stairs, and even asked J. to count them for me - (35 stairs). Although I have arthritis, I didn't have trouble with them. The stairs are wide, not too steep, and have a sturdy handrail. Also, they are well light. J. has an excellent sound system - my iPod never sounded so good! The bed is very comfortable. The dining table you see in the pictures is great for family dining (so much nicer than those little stools where you eat at the kitchen counter!) We did not use the loft, but... the ladder is sturdier than it looks in the pictures, and I think children or young people would be comfortable sleeping up there.
We had a wonderful time, in an amazing location. The apartment was very roomy and comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. We'll be going back.
Nice appartment near central park!
this location is unbeatable. the apartment is charming. would have given it four stars but I wish the sleeping loft had a futon mattress instead of an air mattress-although to be fair it is advertised as a one bedroom not two. everything else was perfect, owner was professional and apt was very cute and very well equipped, heated, etc. gets amazing morning light, esp in the bedroom which has a very comfy bed. kitchen works great and was a nice touch to have wifi and tv. but really the neighborhood is the best part, bakeries and restaurants full of locals (not tourists) and steps from central park. it is the authentic NYC experience that one could usually never afford!
Joseph's apartment was perfect for our stay on the Upper West Side. The apartment was really clean and we had everything we needed. The location is great; close to the subway, Central Park, some great restaurants ...I had a wonderful week. Thanks, Joseph!
Now that were home we really miss Joseph's studio apt. on the upper west park on 70th street. It was a remarkable area, nice and peaceful yet steps away from all the excitement you could imagine. I slept very well the night prior to the NYC Marathon . My wife and I could'nt have had better accomidations.
Joseph nous a laisse une bonne impression.Charmant ,poli discret
