I couldn't have been happier with my stay. I was doing some home renovations and my husband and I needed a place to stay for the night. We were so happy to find this place just a couple blocks from our house. Amanda and John were incredibly nice and extremely accommodating.
The room was a good size, very clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size, with a large shower and nice towels. It's detached from the house with a private entrance, which was also great.
When I am unable to accommodate out of town guests, I will definitely be sending them here.
Amanda and John were great hosts and provided coffee & coffee pot as well as a plug in kettle for hot tea and even some apples when I arrived (which came in handy since I was quite busy the whole time I was there). They also responded right away with any questions I had. The location was right across the street from Oxy which was great since I spent almost all of my time on campus. It was great to have privacy, but have somebody right there if I needed something. The water took a little while to get hot, but be patient, there was plenty of hot water.
John was helpful and friendly as soon as I arrived, showing me around the house and giving me ideas of what to do around the neighborhood. Whenever I had any questions both John and Amanda were very responsive, replying quickly whenever I sent them a text. The house itself is well decorated and clean, guest room included. The guest room also leads out onto a porch. The neighborhood is nice and because of its proximity to York Blvd it's pretty close to some decent restaurants and grocery stores. All in all I found this to be a great place to stay for my first trip to Los Angeles.
On a recent Occidental College reunion I had the great pleasure and fortune to stay with this wonderful family, right across the street from my destination. That meant that I avoided the expense of renting a car and everything else that goes with driving in L.A. What a excellent way to get the most out of my short, weekend stay!
Amanda and John were very accommodating and anticipated my needs. My stay was comfortable, quiet and engaging, as I was able to participate in some family events to the level that I wanted. Nothing was asked of me. I will most certainly see if I can stay with them again on my next trip out to Camp Oxy.
Thank you Air BNB! Once again, I come home relaxed and grateful to have made some new friends.
I booked this amazing room for my mother who was visiting me for one month. It's located in a quiet neighborhood just across the street from Occidental College. If you're looking to visit the school, or have family over to visit you while you're in school, this would be ideal.
The room has it's own private patio entrance, which provides great light throughout the day. The room was clean and my mother was delighted to find a welcome basket with Shampoo and other toiletries. If your stay is longer than one week you can expect to have your room, sheets and towels cleaned.
Amanda and John were incredibly nice and very accommodating. My mother needed a higher table for the patio that she could work on, and they were quick to provide that for her. Everything about the house and who they are dictates respect. Their 5 year old daughter is a gem, well behaved, and very friendly.
My mother was so pleased with her stay that she will be staying with Amanda and John on her next visit.
They are a great family -- sweet and cute. They are clean and very friendly. Their daughter is very smart and adorable. We love them. It is our pleasure to meet them and you will feel the same as us.
