I am an easy-going, relaxed individual who enjoys good company and conversation and making new friends. I am passionate about eating well. My son and daughter and I are the cooks in the family and insist on cooking good, simple meals, mostly grains and vegetables, including greens from the garden. I love the simple, honest life whether in the country or city. A lover of culture - theater, museums, historic sites - I thrive on travel and visiting new places and, though I reside in the country, I am a city girl by birth and sleep best with the noise of the city as backdrop! I am an avid reader and paint when I can -- the lovely landscape in central Virginia and of our farm with our long-horned Highland cattle providing huge inspiration. Though trained as an architectural historian, the best job I've ever had has been as mother to my 3 children -- my oldest, a Marine based in Okinawa, my middle son, an urban dweller working in music production, and the youngest a rising college freshman. It is hard having them gone from home now, which is why I am opening up our farmhouse to guests visiting this beautiful and historic part of Virginia! In the fast-paced days we live in, coming to Sunnybrook is a step back in time to a simpler time - with the wail of bagpipes in the air, foxes barking at night, and a fire crackling in the library when there's a nip in the air. Guy (the bagpiper) and I and little dog, Traveler, a Jack Russell, look forward to welcoming you!
