Eriko was very helpful. The "studio" is basically an hotel room, made smaller with the addition of a small sink, hot plate, coffee maker, and small fridge. We did have a great view of sunrise and the canal. My only suggestion would be to check with the hotel, the Hawaian Manarch for deals. We met people who were on the 24 th floor with an ocean view for $80/ night, with the advantage of housekeeping, which Eriko's on the 10th floor does not have. Very small window air conditioner was adequate in Feb. but doubt it could cool the room in summer.
This was an OK place to stay. Nothing special and we would not stay again. It was quite small.
Eriko was a great host! She even upgraded us to a different room with a beautiful view of Waikiki (our original room was under contruction last minute). We spent our first week on our honeymoon at island colony and it was great! I recommend anyone to stay here, you wont be disappointed. p.s. the bed was super comfy!
Eriko's was amazing, wonderful view, close to the beach, and right upstairs from one of the best places to have breakfast "The Cream Pot".
On a side note for people new to Waikiki it looks larger on maps than it is in person, just about it everything you want to do is within walking distance.
The view is great and the building is in the center of everything. There's a mini-mart and laundry in the building which are great. The room itself is small and the kitchen is very basic. It would work best for two adults or a single traveler. Also we felt that the carpet is not too clean, we did not want to sit on the floor. The rest of the room is clean. Overall it's a good value option if you want to stay in Waikiki. P.S: Parking is $25 per day.
We were at the condo in March 2014. we are very sad because It was dirty and we had cockroaches in the room. we left earlier and got fortunately part of the money back.
I honestly couldn't imagine a better stay in Waikiki. Eriko was a fantastic host. She met me when I arrive (even though it was late) and she gave me a thorough overview of the unit. She was very kind and extremely responsive throughout my stay. I've stayed in quite a few AirBnB apartments, and she has been one of the best people I've worked with.
The studio itself was perfect. The view shown in the picture is the actual view from the apartment's balcony. Make sure you wake up for sunrise, it is a stunning sight! It is kept very clean and Eriko provides all the comforts of home. The ONLY thing remotely off putting is the garbage shoot just outside the door - it's kind of stinky. But the smell doesn't enter the room. You just have to put up with it when unlocking the door.
The building is very secure and clean. There is an Enterprise Rent-a-Car located on the first floor (though this Enterprise kind of has a sucky staff).
Overall I highly recommend this studio - except for the dates that I plan to return! I will definitely be booking it again.
Eriko is a lovely host and the apartment is very nice and cosy. The location is very convenient, right in the heart of Waikiki, close to all the shops and restaurants. The apartment is very clean and the view is amazing.
