My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Brooklyn and Clairose was a very gracious host. She stayed in contact to make sure our visit went smoothly. The apartment was very cozy and clean. Well equipped for cooking meals (we did none), and the Keurig coffee maker was much appreciated. The location couldn’t be better – either for touring Brooklyn or visiting Manhattan. The apartment is in a beautiful, quiet tree-lined brownstone neighborhood, but just blocks from the subway stations taking you most anywhere in the city. Just remember that is a 4th floor walk-up (this wasn’t a problem, but we were warned). Also, the building was under renovation while we were there and the entry was not very inviting. We might have stopped there, had we not had reservations – but that would have been a big mistake.
To add to Clairose’s neighborhood recommendations, try Tazza (Henry St.) for morning sidewalk coffee and great oatmeal. For an evening meal, don’t miss Henry Public (also Henry St.) and their “turkey leg sandwich” (It’s not what you might think – Google it)
We will be back.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Brooklyn thanks to Clairose's home and hospitality. She made sure we had everything we needed and made herself available for unforeseen challenges. The place itself is beautiful, sunny, with a comfortable bed and very useful kitchen, in a great neighborhood. Clairose even left out brand new soap and toothpaste in case we forgot anything!
Clairose was a wonderful host. We enjoyed her studio: Great location, clean and attentive host. Good value for money.
The neighborhood is one of the best in Brooklyn and the apartment is in a great location. The apartment was clean and new bath soap and new toothpaste were even provided! There is no elevator in this 4th floor apartment, but that is normal enough for NYC. I stayed in December and the heat in the unit was more than enough. I would stay here again.
Staying in this apartment worked out perfectly for me. It's in a great neighborhood and is well connected by subway (only four blocks away) to the rest of New York. It's in an old Brooklyn brownstone, which is charming, but means that the stairwell and hallways are a bit cramped and rickety. The apartment itself is small, but exceptionally tidy and clean, and Clairose was a great host. She went out of her to way to accommodate my tricky arrival and was frequently in touch to make sure that everything was okay. Overall, a great experience!
Clairose was a wonderful guest. She was observant of all the house rules and made sure to contact me when any issues came up. Apartment was in great shape, I would gladly host Clairose again!
