I am a single woman, who teaches piano for a living. I am originally from the mid-west: born and raised in Evanston,IL. I still have a lot of family in the Chicago area and love to go visit there. I also lived in Wisconsin for 15 years after I was married. In 1994 we moved to Dana Point, CA and lived there for over 13 years. I am on my own now and have moved to Portland because I love being close to city life and lots of trees. I also love the 4 seasons and all of the neighborhoods in Portland.
When not teaching piano, I sing in choirs, walk my dog, go out to eat, and go out to listen to music In the summer, I take advantage of the many different festivals that Portland has to offer. The summer has one festival after another on the waterfront.
I also love to work in my yard. When the weather allows, I like to ride my bike and take walks. I always love to go downtown
A drive out to the Gorge is also incredible, ending with a visit to one of the many McMenamin's establishments. There is a very nice one in Troutdale that has summer concerts on the lawn. Every winter I go up to TImberline Lodge on Mt. Hood for a day trip and every summer, to the beach. Portland is about equa-distant from both areas.
I have one son that lives in California and a daughter that lives in England. She has 2 children; both girls. I like to go over there at least twice a year to visit and get to know my grandchildren.
Why am I here and my children elsewhere? So I can go and visit them! Not really, but it just worked out that way and I must make lemonade. I love going over to England and also back to California where I used to live. My other love is going out to eat and exploring different restaurants. Portland is the perfect place for that.
I completely enjoy showing people around when they come to town. I was a good tour guide when I lived in California and showed my guests all up and down the coast. I love to let people know what there is to do in the places that I live. I will be happy to point you in a few different directions when you come here, if you need any guidance.
