Agatha's place is small but it was ok for two people for two nights. We didn't meet her in person but she was really nice, left everything for us what we needed (notes, food, towels, etc.). The apartment is in a nice and quiet area and about 2 minutes from the subway.
A very nice place to stay for a week.
Well placed when you want to visit brooklyn and Manhattan.
Agatha was a charming host, welcoming our stay with donuts (wich is great after an 8 hour flight).
The apartment is functional and cosy.
Agatha is a model airbnber. She was incredibly responsive and accommodating. Her place is very small but exactly what my girlfriend and I were looking for when we were visiting New York. Thanks so much Agatha.
Agatha was no less than excellent throughout my entire stay. She was 100% available through text and email. She left snacks, local recommendations and directions, fresh sheets and towel, and some miscellaneous toiletries. Genuinely a great hostess.
The apartment, like she says, is small. But it's perfect for 1-2 people. Spacious bed, decent-sized bathroom for a NY studio, and a kitchenette (not that you'll need it). Agatha mentions that her apartment is by the front door and that it can get noisy. I honestly was not bothered by this-- a few doors opening and closing, but it's not like anyone is hanging out in the lobby.
The apartment is four blocks or so from Franklin Ave station, which will take you to a variety of locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
All in all, this is a good one.
For our first trip to New York, we chose to spent our week in Brooklyn. Agatha had left some advise to appreciate at the best her lovely home. We were very happy, after a long day of walking, to expand our tired legs on a VERY comfortable bed! Thank you for the welcome and the availability of Agatha.
After staying in Manhattan on my way into New York, I chose Brooklyn on the way out of the Big Apple. Great choice. Agatha's place was perfect for one person. It is small, but feels like a real home. Even with its size, there is a real kitchen a real bathroom and a bedroom. TV has full cable, so if you need to kill some time, there are more options than just Maury and Jerry Springer. The flat is on the ground floor and you can hear voices out there at night, but it is always in passing. I didn't notice any other apartments next to it, so no parties or any other disturbances.
The location can't be beat. There is a shuttle train stop just across the street. You need to walk to get to certain trains, but the longest I had to travel was 14 minutes to catch the F train out to JFK.
There are lots of cool places to eat within walking distance of Agatha's including a nice taco place right down the street and an all night diner around the corner. In the end, I think I almost preferred Brooklyn to Manhattan. If you really want to be in Manhattan it is only about four stops away by train. I would definitely stay at Agatha's again.
We found the flat extremely comfortable and complete of everything needed. Even if the size fit perfectly for one person, we found good possibility to stay even in two friends.
Agatha was perfect host! Prompt communicating any time with kindness and smiling.
Thanks Agatha, hope to come to you again in next occasion!
Response from Agatha:
You're always welcome!! Thank you for everything :)
The place is tiny but it works fine if you have other places where to go and spend your time, as it was for me. Agatha was very nice and gave me a lot of precious information. The only criticism I have is that the studio was not very clean and that made me feel uncomfortable; I guess you just need to be prepared.
Response from Agatha:
Sorry you didn't find it clean. That's unsettling. time to revamp!
Though I did not meet Agatha in person, she was very attentive to any questions I had. I received a lot of information from her regarding the neighborhood, restaurants, things to do, etc for which I was very grateful to receive. The place itself was small, but had all of the comforts one should need! The noise was not a problem at all for me. I had a great stay. Thanks Agatha!
First of all I would like to praise Agatha, she is HONEST, fast and helpfull.
If youre planning to stay in Agatha´s place dont expect tons of space, the pace is tiny. But then again its NY, so probably you won´t be there a lot of time anyway. I liked the general feel of her studio, its sort of bohemian and cosy. About the noise in the hallway. It is there, and can be annoying if you plan to sleep early. But its perfectly quiet between 11-12 pm and 7-8 am, so I had no trouble sleeping what so ever. The neighbourhood Prospect park is up and coming and still has some rough edges, I enjoyed walking around there, lots to do. And it feels perfectly safe.
Many Thanks Agatha.
