This was my family's first visit to Florence and it was wonderful. Not only did the sights, sounds, and food make our trip, but also our stay at Casa Olivia. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Giorgio, but all the arrangements were made with him and he always responded in a timely manner. It was Francesca, his wife, who warmly welcomed us even as our arrival was delayed into the late evening. She made sure we had everything we needed for our stay- extra blankets/pillows, clean towels, coffee/tea & little breakfast treats. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed its location. It's a 5 min walk to the Batoni tram stop and you can find yourself in the heart of Florence in 10 minutes. There are restaurants nearby and Cascine Park is across the street. Also, we drove out to Chianti country in 30 minutes one morning- an easy drive from the house.
After a day of sightseeing, it was comforting to return to Casa Olivia.
The house is located near a beautiful river, the landlord was not at home when we arrived but his wife treated us very nice. The landlord was very considerate and friendly, they also prepared snacks and food in the kitchen, say cookies, coffee, honey etc. The landlord also very creative, they made furniture themselves. Outside the house there is a small garden, very nice experience.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Super Unterkunft.
This apartment was extremely practical for us ! My family and I had our little personal space with a well equipped kitchen and two nice bedrooms. The rental process went very smoothly, as the hosts were super nice and easy to communicate with ! They took the time to help us and advise us about the things to do in Florence. The house is 5 min away from the tram, so to get into the center of Florence is as easy as it could get - you can even take a walk into the city along the river and see Florence gradually emerge ahead of you - which is quite enjoyable. Overall, great experience !
We has a very nice stay here. Giorgio and his wife were great hosts and very friendly. Parking was easy right in front of the house. The room was comfortable and the tram right into the center of Florence was a short walk away, so the location was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.
Giorgio is a nice host..he came to the tram station when we are not sure how to go to his house..we have complete privacy in our room but shared bathroom with another tenant.bathroom abit small though.apartment n tram station is about 15mins walk n with the uneven road, we have some difficulty dragging the luggages..
We enjoyed our stay at Casa Olivia. Francesa was lovely (although didn't speak much English). She did carry her phone and used Google translate so it was all fine. She was really lovely and helpful.
The room was clean, tidy and bright - as listed.
It was annoying as we only discovered the tram into town on our last day! We'd walked into central Florence each day (about 30min walk). Although it was listed online (and our fault we didn't check). However, they could have told us about local transport into Florence upon arrival.
I would opt for a taxi at night, however, as the area felt a little risky. The park during the day is lovely, but at night, I was a little nervous walking back.
The breakfast was nice. Just bread, sweet treats, fruit biscuits so nothing - but still nice to have.
All in all, a nice place to stay. My only gripe is that is was the same price as some hotels (which might be nearer Central Florence).
