Jack's place was perfect for our long weekend in the Charleston area! Jack was very responsive and helpful with recommendations throughout our stay. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to downtown, restaurants and the grocery store. Jack even treated us to a bucket of beer to celebrate our completion of the Kiawah Island Marathon! I would highly recommend his place for anyone traveling to Charleston.
I had a lovely, relaxing and peaceful stay here. The house was spotless, and it has everything you could need... even bikes! And the huge garden is amazing.
Jack was a great host. Gave me plenty of tips about places to see, and the local history. It was good to know that he was only a text/phone call away if I needed anything.
If you're planning to visit downtown Charleston a lot during your stay, then I'd recommend you have a car. But downtown really is just a short, easy drive away.
Coming from the hustle and bustle of New York, Jack and Chris's place was a real oasis. No honking horns at night... just a symphony of crickets! And there's a nice walk you can do that takes you to the front gates of the McLeod Plantation (closed just now, but still a nice walk).
Jack - thanks for all your southern hospitality!
Jack was very hospitable. He went out of his way to make sure everything was in place and my initial experience at the home was good. He gave good advise on what to do in the community and seemed very knowledgeable.
The house was very clean and inviting. A bit of a drive from the town center, but it was worth it considering the expense of staying in town.
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days/4 nights and LOVED it! The duplex was incredibly close to everything; we couldn't have asked for a more convenient location. Jack was very helpful and even had beach chairs for us to use when going to the beach. We would highly recommend staying here and would stay here again.
Jack and Chris were wonderful hosts! Jack checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The cottage is darling with great furnishings, and every amenity you could possibly need. Even took out the bikes for a ride around town. Quick commute to Folly Beach and to Downtown Charleston. Wonderful experience! Will be back again soon!
We enjoyed our stay here. The house is about 15 minutes by car to the beach or downtown Charleston.
Jack and Chris' home was simply lovely. The close proximity to downtown Charleston and the beach made it the perfect stay. The dogs loved the fantastic yard and the dog park was a hit! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks again!
My fiance and I had a fantastic time staying at Jack and Chris's place! This apartment is the perfect size for two people, and Jack is a great host and ambassador for his hometown of Charleston. He took time to show us an amazing historical site nearby, and he also made sure the two bikes he provided were aired up and ready to ride.
There are plenty of fun things to do close by. Some of our favorite activities in the area were kayaking with Coastal Expeditions (they have sit-on-top kayaks for newbies) and the awesome tour and flight demonstration at the Center for Birds of Prey (the price is right, too). We also enjoyed some great local restaurants - we recommend the pork tacos at Fuel and pretty much everything at Husk (is a bit pricey but worth it.)
This was the perfect little getaway! The house is adorable and well-maintained. It's super close to restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores, plus it's a quick drive to downtown. Jack checked in regularly and made sure we were taken care of and provided lots of resources for things to do, places to eat, etc. which was very appreciated.
What a great location! Jack has the house well stocked with everything you could ever imagine and was a gracious host. There are even ice blocks in the freezer in case you go to the beach or something. This is a perfect place especially if you are flying. you will never find accommodations as inclusive as these. Great backyard, great neighborhood to walk in. We couldn't have asked for a better stay....well maybe less rain, but that can't be helped. Would definitely stay here again but just purchased a townhome down there and will be moving in the fall.
Pleasure to host Jack = easy to communicate with and left the place neat and tidy!
