Everything about Gelya's apartment was perfect -- just as lovely as it looks in the listing. It is small, I suppose, but felt very comfortable and spacious because she has set it up and decorated it with such artistry. The aparment was clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. The key exchange was perfect. The neighborhood location is very convenient and we found it to be quiet as well. Gelya provided us with detailed directions and suggestions of fun things to do nearby -- we had so much fun at the 169 Bar our first night! I would recommend Gelya's apartment to anyone and would definitely stay there again.
We loved Gelya's appartment in Chinatown. It's a very comfortable and cosy place on a good location, on walking distance of many nice restaurants, bars and shops in the lower east side. It's a place where you feel at home immediately. The wifi works, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
We had a very pleasant stay in Gelya's appartment. The appartment is not very big, but everything you need is available! It was also very clean and the bed is comfortable. A bit noisy in the night because of the nearby Subway. The neighbourhood is very nice. With the Subway around the corner you can het anywhere in a short time! Thank you very much Gelya for a pleasant stay!!
The appartment is as discribed and with a nice view to manhattan bridge (directly from the bed). At the staircase its dirty and it smells, but the appartment is clean and smells fine (lavendel). You have free WLAN! Check-In and Check-Out is very easy because Gelya have a key-lock-box near the appartment, so you can check in byself. Communication with Gelya is easy, she answer quickly reacts to questions. The appartment is next to Chinatown. In this area are only China-Supermarket, China-Restaurants etc. The next supermarket or Starbucks is 20 minutes to go. We recommend bus-line M15 (drives beetween Financial Destrict and Harlem along the eastriver from Manhattan), next stop from the apt. is at Allan Street. It's easy to come up and down with M15 and change the bus to go in the middle of Manhattan (Central Park, Empire State Building, ....). The way to Financial District, Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park (Ferrys to state of liberty) and Little Italy is short for walking.
If you have no problem with China Food and make longer ways the apartment is fine to stay. We felt happy and home!
A gracious host (email hidden) to stay in Chinatown that is walking distance to LES. The setup for the key pickup is perfect and well thought out. My list of positives (I have no criticism to offer - my stay was wonderful): the apartment is clean throughout, the kitchen is well equipped for you to cook in should you get sick of eating out, the tap water tastes good, the building itself and neighbors are quiet and friendly, the bedroom and bed are very comfortable - there are shades to make the room dark should you need to sleep a little later than normal - or if you decide you don't like the nice view of the bridge from the bedroom. There is an excellent coffee shop just around the corner and (email hidden) for a funky breakfast followed by a walk in the nearby park. There are citi bikes for you to rent within a block (get a map that tells you where the bike lanes are - bring your own lock and helmet). Highly recommended place to stay...have no fear of Chinatown or this apartment.
It's was a real pleasure to stay at Gelya flat, well located, a lovely home and a very great host that eases perfectly the organization for the check-in, check-out and also available in case of needs.
We truly appreciated our holidays and deeply recommanded Gelya and his beautiful flat for anyone looking to stay in NYC.

Apartment is in a good area, close to lots of good cafes, restaurants and bars. Apartment size is good for 2 people. It was clean, and had all the necessities. Has a down to earth feel...lots of cool books and movies. Overall my stay was great!
Our experience with Gelya was wonderful! She was always quick to respond if i had a question, she made check in and out super easy. The apartment is very cute and extremely well decorated. There are lots of extra little things that really make you feel like you are living in an apartment, like a can opener, scissors, hair dryer, etc....lots of odds and ins that you don't think about until you need them. The apt is a block from the F train which made it really easy to get around by subway. We also had an easy time catching a cab just down the street. This is probably not the neighborhood i would put at the top of my list to stay in, but its it totally safe and nice and very easy to get to other areas quickly. For the price and the apt i would definitely stay here again! Only other thing to consider is that its a 5th floor walk up. Really not a big deal and this is how most buildings in NYC are, but we live out of the country now and had 5 suitcases with us, so my husband was less than thrilled to carry those all up five flights. Overall great experience and I would recommend this to a friend.
Liked the neighbourhood. Easy to get anywhere as the subway is just round the corner.
The apartment is nice and you feel at home.
If you have the legs the stairs shouldn't be a problem.
You can hear the trains on the Manhattan Bridge but it sounds like wind, which I liked.
Good little kitchen which has a bottle opener - Handy!
Chinatown and East Village in close proximity.
Friendly neighbours with nice smelling food.
We didn't meet our host, Gelya but she did make it easy for us to find the apartment, keys, checking in and out and so on.
