We live in a spacious, really unique, beautiful home in historic Coconut Grove, the first settlement in Miami, founded by Bahamian fishermen in the 1880s! The neighborhood is diverse, lively, conveniently located to public transportation and easily walkable to parks, libraries, cafes, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment!
We are creative types--as the matriarch of the family, I am a student of life, an educator, a dancer, yogi, marker artist, and poet. Close to finishing my PhD on Latino Artist Educators. :) Woo-hoo! Family-friendly household and doggy friendly.
Debbie loves to bake cupcakes, brownies, cookies and has founded, directed, or taught in academic/arts programs for inner-city kids from New Orleans, San Francisco, upstate NY, North Carolina and Miami. ((email hidden)) She holds the unique distinction of being a Puerto Rican born in Wyoming!! Currently, she is a facilitator at the TRAC (TEam Ropes Adventure Challenge), where she engages and leads groups as an outdoor experiential educator.
We believe that Miami has a lot to offer, and can point you to the best, off-the-beaten path restaurants, neighborhoods, little cafes, galleries, art collections, open mic/performance venues, parks, and beaches.
Our house/patio/yard host a variety of creative events--ranging from "Art Parties" to "Family Festivals," food markets/bazaars, band performances, and dance/yoga classes.
