We loved our stay with Kristen and Matt. The house was lovely and very conveniently located. We spent time with the cats, chickens, and watching the bees. The house was clean and the bed made for a great night's rest. We would definitely stay here if in Louisville in the future.
Kristen and Mark have a beautiful, very unique house! Mark gave us a great dinner recommendation (Ramsi's Cafe on the World) and we also really liked Highland Coffee. The cats Honey and Scuba were adorable and the back yard, with the chickens and bees, was really interesting. Parking was easy. All around, we truly enjoyed our first trip to Louisville and would like to return. Thanks for a nice stay, Kristen and Mark, and thank you, too, for the chocolates you left us --they were delicious :)
Kristen and Mark's place is really cute. Their cats were lovely and the chickens were fun to watch in the backyard (no roosters so we couldn't hear them in the house). The room had enough space for our huge suitcase and to do the "big pack" for a flight back home. There is only one shower for the house--at the time it was Kristen and Mark, another Airbnb guest in the other room, and us--but we never had an issue with access to it when we needed it.
It was a breeze to check-in. When we met them the next day they gave us some great restaurant recommendations and made us feel welcome.
Although the location is a little out from downtown, we drove to Museum Row in less than 15 minutes. The place is near Churchill Downs and on the way to Bardstown--it only took us an hour and some change to get to Jim Beam. Parking was always available outside the house which was nice!
We had a lovely time in Louisville and Kristen and Mark's place definitely added to the experience!
I needed a clean, quiet, comfortable room for a simple overnight stay while on business in Louisville. Kristen and Mark's place worked out great. The bed was very comfortable and Mark was very gracious in greeting me even though I arrived later in the evening. Their location was very central with ideal access to the airport, the U of L campus, indeed all of Louisville. A great value!
Cute house, cute room, easy in, easy out. My girlfriend and I have stayed in plenty of airbnb places, but this was our first room (instead of a whole house). Mark was wonderfully helpful, and I felt completely comfortable in the house. We arrived before dinner, and left just after breakfast, but the short time there was lovely. The location was great as well: walking distance to good coffee and dive bar/restaurant and bakery, plenty of parking.
Great little room. We had a car but the house was handy to town which was really easy to use. Unfortunately we didn't meet Kristen but mark was a super friendly host and gave us some great local recommendations. Real comfy room and amenities too. So nice to met you and your furry/ feathered friends :)
We're airbnbelievers now, after staying at Kristen & Mark's place during our Louisville visit. When we entered, my friend and I couldn't stop staring at how adorable everything was-- from the fresh flowers, to the mason jars of water, to the little chocolates. Stepping outside of the room, we drank in the giant bookcases, noted the chickens, and said hello to the friendliest orange kitty. What was this, Anthrobnb? Sad we didn't get a chance to meet Kristen, but on our last evening Mark shared beer with us and two other fellow Airbnb guests, and we chatted about anything and everything. I learned a lot about bees.
But seriously, the friendliest, sweetest hosts-- it was really hard to leave. Plus, the location was so prime! A nice walk or a short drive to Bardstown Road for delicious eats, or a quick drive downtown. Is it possible to have a crush on a house? Would stay again in a heartbeat.
i had a very pleasant stay on merwin avenue! everything was just as i was hoping. the house was clean and personable. mark was friendly and informative. as a first time experience using airbnb, i am glad that this was my introduction. i would stay here again if i ever travel back to louisville. in a heartbeat. thank you!
Kristen & Mark's place was incredibly easy to find, which was a big bonus! I pulled up and the warm light from their kitchen was so welcoming. The room was incredibly clean with fresh white linens. The room, and their home in general, was incredibly cute and quant right down to the details - a jug of water and chocolate on the nightstand and a guide to the city as well.
Mark was so, so helpful, spending an hour chatting with me about travel and giving me directions and a couple suggestions for breakfast.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. It was lovely!
Mark was a great host! The room was clean and exactly as described. Neighborhood was safe, and I was able to park my rental right out front. They are located a 15 min walk from a very cool bar where I happened to catch a show by one of my favorite bands unexpectedly! I would definitely recommend this location in Louisville!
Mark was such an awesome guest! He came into town for a conference and had a really great attitude about exploring the city and maximizing his stay in Atlanta.
Very clean and respectful. Really could not ask for a better guest to come stay with you.
It was wonderful to host Mark and Kristen again. They are truly wonderful folks with a youthful and insightful outlook on life. We highly recommend them to anyone and wish them all the best in Louisville where they also host.
Kristen and Mark were great guests. Very friendly and interesting to talk with. They left the barn immaculate and we would be happy to have them back in a heart beat.
Mark and Kristin were lovely! I really enjoyed meeting them both -- a super nice couple who were interesting to talk to and easy to host.
Mark was a really nice guest! We had good conversation about lots of things such as politic, travel and social work. He was really interested in seeing everything in town and knowing more about Montreal and the «Quebec culture». I would definitely recommend him or welcome him if he came again!
