Always hated the description box... well, I consider myself to be an open-minded, easy-going person.
I was born in the South of Italy and moved to Bologna when I was 19 to study Foreign Languages. Nowadays, I'm done with university and I work as a freelance translator.
My main interests are literature, linguistics, translation studies. Also, I'm what you may call a cinephile. My guilty pleasures in the last few years, though, are American TV shows, a subject in which I'm a real nerd. Engage me in a conversation on these subjects and you'll probably end up wishing I would just shut up already. :)
I believe in no standard philosophy, religion, or political orientation. Any fixed formula or label simply has no grip on me.
I strongly believe in the necessity of living ethically and I try my best to "do no harm". In a way, you may say that my personal philosophy is based on a secular interpretation of karma: good things happen to those who do good things in the first place.
I may be a stern judge of myself, but please rest assured that I try my best not to judge anyone else, no matter how different his/her way of thinking may be from mine.
Usually, I enjoy meeting people who reflect on themselves and their actions, who do not act in a certain way just because "this is the way of the world" and who are always ready to change their mind if proven wrong. I don't get along very well with people who think they hold a sacred truth, who base their life on dogmas and use ready-made doctrines as their moral compass.
Less philosophically, I enjoy easy-going people, ready to share their experiences and thoughts while having a nice glass of wine and a home-cooked meal or an ice-cold beer.
