I'm a native New Yorker with some traveling experience, still expanding my horizons. I spend most of my time reading, and exercising. I'm currently in school studying Acupuncture.
A friend of mine and I stayed at Damian's place for a week over Christmas and New Year's time. He was not around and we had the opportunity to meet his roommate John, but everything was perfect! The apartment is very nice, the bedroom and the bathroom really clean and for those who are spending more time in the city, coming back just to sleep, was the best. There is a qeen size bed really comfy and there was also a closet, a desk and a book shelf. Everything is like he described and like you can see from the pictures.
The neighborhood is nice, there always are people around in the night and the subway is close by: we use it every day to go into Manhattan!
We enjoyed our stay and we recommend Damian's place! I would be back there the next time I'll visit Manhattan!
Damien the host and his friend, John (whom I shared with), are both intelligent, down-to-earth and helpful. It was the first time I've shared with a guy and no one else on AirBnB, and it was a really safe and straightforward experience.
The apartment itself is just round the corner from Park Place subway as well as a large grocery store and lots of cafes, restaurants, clothes boutiques, laundromats and other amenities. It's super-quick and easy to get into Manhattan or explore different parts of Brooklyn from there.
On warm sunny days it's worth walking from the apartment to Brooklyn Bridge and over it to lower Manhattan.
The photos provided are bona fide: the bed in the room is cozy and warm with a proper mattress, the bathroom's unfussy and clean and the kitchen has everything you need to cook with.
Moreover, a lot of natural light comes into the lounge first thing in the morning which is always good!
Cet appartement est confortable, commode et sûr.
Diese Wohnung ist gemütlich, günstig und sicher.
John will understand my French-German fun because he's a good sport!
I stayed at Damian's place for over a month. Damian is rarely around, but whenever I met him he was really friendly and caring. At the time I stayed there, I had a housemate John. I could ask John anything and he would always give me tips & advice. Very cool guy.
A little bit about the place. Everything that's said in the description is 100% correct. Photos are accurate as well. I'll just add couple of things.
Bed is big & comfy. You'll sleep like a baby.
You can use all the kitchen utensils that are there. Be aware that there is no microwave oven.
Windows aren't really soundproof, but your room isn't facing the street, so it's not much of a trouble.
When it's cold, the cold air gets through a little. But heating is right below the window, so when heating is on, you shouldn't feel anything.
Neighborhood is nice & safe. When it's warm outside, it's quite busy even into late night.
All after all, I would recommend staying at Damian's place. You will get a real feel of Brooklyn. And price / value ratio is great!
the place is great, with a huge living room, A/C in the bedroom and an ok bathroom. The neighborhood is amazing, slightly gentrified, nice people, bars and restaurants, very quick subway ride to Southern Manhattan. Damian is not around too much, but always easy to reach via mail. No problems there.
I can only recommend staying here.
Damian is an extremely nice and friendly guy. He went out of his way to make me feel welcome and at home in Brooklyn. He's also busy and highly motivated, so on those occasions when you do both find yourselves in the apartment, you'll have lots of stuff to talk about. Stellar host, comfortable amenities and colorful surroundings made for an outstanding first airbnb experience.
I had a great time. Damian's place was in a great location, close to the subway, the amazing Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Garden and Prospect Park, clean and lovely and warm. It's also close to the incredible Williamsburg.
I would definitely stay there again, Damian was a considerate and helpful host. Really enjoyed my stay.
Damian was an amazing host! I stayed with him for 4 months and he was always very attentive and made sure I had enough blankets, towels, etc. The room is located on a street full of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants, and you can't beat the short walk to the subway. Overall, my experience was wonderful!
Damian's place is great clean and quiet.
The location is great. Franklin ave is great and subway station is very close which is good.
Damian is very laid back and calm, sometimes I did not know if he was there or not.
Would go there again.
It was great! First time airbnb, first time Damian, next time for sure again. Damian´s place is very close to Manhattan like the subway station which is going to Manhattan. The apartment was clean and enough from night to night.
This is the best place, ever! It is everything that is desribed in the caption. Damien is very neat and tidy and this is seen everywhere in the apartment, especially the bedroom. The bathroom is always clean as well as the sink. I like that this area is situated along a street with restaurants and very close to public transport. This is quality accomodation!
Damian is such a laid back and artsy "neatnik" and overall considerate host, that I recommended he put his place up on Airbnb. Why? Because he and his Brooklyn Zen pad are pretty much a perfect fit for anyone looking to stay inexpensively in the heart of the world's greatest borough in the best city on Earth. Needless to say, since he started renting his place earlier this year, I have witnessed some of the coolest and happiest world travelers come and go without as much as a glitch or a hitch, all the while enjoying his living room's bright sunshine, spotless kitchen and modern bathroom. In fact, almost everyone who stays at Chez Damian extends their stay and one wonders if they are ever going to leave. If you like neat, clean, Zen and functional simplicity -- you will find his place an incredible find. People seem to truly love this quiet place.
Name any other roommate that prescribes natural medicine to you when you are sick (and it worked).
Courteous, generous, and clean, Damian's rarely ever home (every roommate's dream), and when he is it's nice and quiet because he's usually studying. Peaceful...
The place itself is great. The spacious granite countertops in the kitchen make you feel like mini chef lite, and the living room is large enough to play a small game of football (please don't) or at least dance a little. It's a really nice place with plants, a beautiful bathroom, and high ceilings. The hall way has exposed brick, and the neighborhood is awesome. Everyone of my friends that's ever walked into the place has looked to the left, saw how nice it is, and said "wow."
Everything you need (yoga classes, bars, cafes, choice produce) is new and recently opened. Also short walk to Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, and Botanical Gardens. The population in the 'hood tends to be young and hip (haha, dang Hipsters!) and pretty friendly.
