This rental exceeded my expectations. I met with John, who was super accommodating seeing how I booked the rental less than 24 hours before I arrived to NY (due to a last minute trip and problems with another air bnb host). The apartment looked exactly like the pictures, was clean (whatever detergent was used on the linens was AMAZING), and located in a very diverse (and safe) neighborhood. The bath tub was DEEP, which is surprising for NYC, but there was no stopper so I couldn't take a bath. That was seriously my only complaint. It was a 5 minute walk to the A/C train down Nostrand Ave and surrounded by lots of restaurants, (O Grill, and Curry House were among my favorites), drug stores, and bodegas.
John was also kind enough to have portable heaters available and the mini fridge stocked with some necessities that came in handy during the wee hours. The noise levels were surprisingly low, mostly because the rental is located on a residential block, so the most you would hear was an occasional dog barking or kids once they were out of school.
Needless to say, I was so satisfied with my stay that I will definitely be renting the unit in the future.
Asha was very quick to respond to any questions prior to my arrival. Her father, John, met me at the apartment to show me around and answer questions. He also stocked the fridge with drinks and bagels for the morning. It was very thoughtful after a day of travel. The apartment is very clean, quiet and comfortable. The WiFi was strong and it was well accommodated. It is also very close to the subway, so getting around was easy. I would definitely recommend both the apartment and the hosts.
John was a wonderfully warm host. He showed me around the apartment immediately upon arrival and answered any/all questions. When I had a question after he left me, he immediately called me within 5 mins. Quiet street, all necessities nearby, and 5 minute walk to the A, C line.
We are so glad to have stayed here. A very comfortable apartment, near to Manhattan ( only 20 min by subway), very clean and situated in a good neighborhood. We had enjoyed it!
The apartment was just perfect for our 5 days we stayed in NYC! The host was really nice and was always helpful with little questions we had. They even filled up the fridge with Drinks and Food. The Apartment is just as described and located in a quiet street in Brooklyn. The Metro Station is just around the corner and you get to everywhere in Manhattan really quick and easy. I totally recommend Ashas apartment!
The apartment was very nice and clean. We especially appreciated the hair dryer (two girls) and were surprised by iron, which we didn't use in the end :) The only thing that we missed was a jug kettle to make tea (the kettle there took ages to boil water in). Also the bed was a bit small for two and too soft, but I guess it depends on your preferences and if you are a couple or not.
John was very welcoming and nice and also left us some goodies in the fridge and cupboard. Overall the communication prior our arrival was great and very welcoming. So you are not left hesitating whether things are gonna work out.
The street was relatively quite but the surrounding neighbourhood was a bit of a surprise. It didn't seem very inviting to go and eat out, so we mainly ate in Manhattan or at home.
I would recommend to stay at Asha & John's appartment, it is on the A line metro from JFK and it will also take you in short time right to Washington square if you want to wander through mid Manhattan or near Time Square.
Wonderful experience, great neighborhood, lovely host. The place was very clean and comfortable I'd highly recommend staying hear, plus John is easy going and well organized.
Great stay - very nice space that was perfect for our needs. Easy access to the Metro.

Everything went well. The Apartment is located near to a subway Station (about 5 minutes to walk). It is clean and even the fridge was filled with food (thank you John). John is very friendly and answered to all our questions. I really recommend this apartment!
