Me and two others stayed in Yoann's apartment for six days in September, and we had a great time. The elevator was broken, and since the apartment is on the 6th (or 7th in America) floor, that meant a lot of exercise, so something to keep in mind in case you don't like going up and down stairs. The location is perfect, as it is near some major streets and two metro stations, but is not noisy at all in the apartment. There are several restaurants and the well-know Stohrer patisserie just minutes away.
Yoann's place was in a fantastic central location. My partner and I walked to most of the tourist spots like Notre Dame and the Louvre. There is good shopping in Les Halles and lots of cares and restaurants nearby. The station Etienne Marcel was really close and it took us to Paris Nord station aka Gare Nord and Paris Montparnasse in one ride without having to switch trains. These two are major train stations to get to and from other cities in France and other countries.
However we did have a few problems with our stay, though I would not blame them all on Yoann because he did try to be accommodating. On the day of our arrival we were told to come later so my partner and I waited at a cafe nearby and when we finally met Yoann we were told that the previous tenants had some problems and still hadn't left. I met the previous tenant who was a lady who spoke in French and she looked like a tired mother so I let her be. We left our luggage there and had to go back a few hours later to pick up the keys. Since my partner and I were in Paris for a few days I didn't mind too much for the initial delay but it could have interrupted our stay a lot worse if we didn't have much time there. I think he could have spaced out our stays a bit better.
In the apartment there are three rooms, a living and kitchenette area, a bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was quite small and there is a step up to the shower which is about 700x700mm shower which was okay for me because I am a girl. It's not what im used to but could be the norm in Paris. For people with accessibility issues I would be cautious about this.
The rooms do not have their own ceiling lights so Yoann uses lamps to light up the rooms. The light in the living room was broken but we still had a fluorescent in the kitchen and a small bed lamp in the bedroom so it was okay. I think he'll have the lamp fixed for the next guest.
Unfortunately on the second last day of our stay the lift broke down so we had to climb up and down five flights of stairs. This was no fault of Yoann but just make sure that it's fixed if you can't take the stairs!
Overall Yoann is a nice guy and some things happened beyond our control. I think that with better time management some of those things an be ironed out. Overall I was happy with our stay. The location was the most important to me and though there were issues they were not insurmountable. Thanks Yoann!
My friends and I lived in an Yoann's apartment for almost a week! We loved it!) We are excited about the the apartment, its location and the city) Apartment when we visit was very clean, cozy, beautiful, sweet, and most importantly is in a very good location. Two steps away from the Metro and 10 minutes walk from the Louvre. Very nice and clean area with lots of cafes and grocery store nearby. Joanne, thank you so much for our holiday!
Yoann's apartment was in a great location. Right in the center of everything! Extremely close to the metro station. It worked perfect for us during our stay in Paris. Yoann was a great host and responded quickly when we needed anything.
Host was very nice & attentive. He sent me emails while I was there to make sure everything was okay. Clean & spacious flat conveniently located near the Louvre Museum. Appreciated the flexibility with check-in & check-out times.
Just keep in mind that there is a $30 cleaning fee & $100 security deposit. I did not see this anywhere in the emails so was not aware the day we arrived. Luckily, Yoann was very understanding & trusted us with his place. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the center of Paris!
Yoann est un voyageur discret et agréable, il m'a laissé l'appartement dans un état impeccable. Je souhaite qu'il revienne pour son prochain séjour à Ajaccio.
