I am a small business owner in Toronto and love this city. I've used AirBNB as a traveller and have hosted since 2010. I love to travel and meet new people. If you are staying in Toronto...welcome! You will love it.

As with many places there were positives and negatives. On balance, the positives carry the day here.
In the plus column, the place is cozy, mostly quiet (more on that later), in an interesting neighbourhood, convenient to two streetcar lines and reasonably priced by Toronto standards. Jeff is friendly and gives you your space. Getting the key is painless and the wifi is good.
As for the negatives, there are a few, but nothing that could not be easily remedied.
There is plenty of mileage on the kitchen and there were issues with the plumbing. It is functional, but nothing more. Some of the implements need replacing and it would certainly not be expensive to replace the dollar store spatula that is half of its former self and yet left in the drawer, or the broken toilet brush (which Jeff replaced with the upstairs one upon request), or the clogged bathroom sink that takes forever to drain. Attention to little details like this before the guest arrives can really improve the overall experience. They are minor annoyances, but they do tend to add up.
The bathroom could use a thorough clean, in particular the shower area where there is a good colony of black mold in the grouting and the ceiling.
The final gripe for us, though this will vary for people depending on their tolerance levels, is the noise issue, which has been mentioned by another reviewer. It is the nature of these old Toronto houses that noise does travel, but for those not used to it, be warned: You will hear every footfall and every bass note from the host's stereo/TV. He does like his music, which is fine, but if you are an early to bed type it can get a bit wearing at 11.30 PM when it's a little like being under a club, to the point where you can actually feel the bass.
I'm sure that it doesn't seem particularly loud upstairs, but the basement functions as an echo chamber and some people may not tolerate it well. I think these sounds could be largely ameliorated by some carpets, especially the footsteps. It is just part of the deal in a basement suite in an old house, but it is something to be aware of when making your choice.
Having said all that, I have seen much worse and as I said earlier, on balance it is a good place and the price to value ratio is pretty good. A little more attention to detail and anticipating problems before the guests have to raise them would make it excellent.
This is a great little apartment inToronto's east end, Leslieville. Really nicely decorated and extremely comfortable. Great neighbourhood and lots of amazing restaurants.
I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.
Jeff was great! Very accommodating- made sure I had the best stay possible, even when a storm blew the power out! The place is a cute basement space and very comfortable.
Jeff was an AWESOME host!!!! I will ABSOLUTELY be booking with Jeff again!!
The apartment was super clean and exactly as the description stated.
You are looking for a cosy place in a lively neighborhood, you found the right place. Jeff will also be of great help would you need anything. Go without a doubt
Jeff's place was awesome. A perfect spot to chill after our long days downtown. It was clean and had everything we needed. The neighbourhood was full of bars and restaurants and had a great atmosphere too.
Staying at Jeffs apartment was relaxed, easy and Jeff was helpful everytime. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. If i visit Toronto again (what is quiet possibel) i'll come back to Jeff!
Our stay was fantastic! We traveled from the US to celebrate both of our milestone birthdays and had a great time. Jeff not only left a more detailed list of places to eat and attractions not to be missed, but gave us tips whenever we asked. We arrived to a lovely birthday surprise of chilled Proseco & snacks too! We brought bikes to explore the Toronto islands and the trails along Lakeshore Blvd and beaches. Jeff gave directions on how to access the trail along the DVP as well. The summer festivals were in full swing in Chinatown, Bloor, and in Woodbine Park near the beach on the east end. The apartment was a great location to access downtown or to explore the great places to eat brunch, grab a coffee, or dine in Leslieville. Of course nothing beats coming back to a cozy & quiet home away from home for a good night's rest. Thanks again Jeff!
Everything was as described. Great home, great location, easy access!
We had a great stay at Jeff's place. Great location, great neighbourhood. Jeff was very responsive if we needed anything

A delightful guest! I felt very comfortable and safe having Jeff in my home. He interacted with my other guests and offered to help out with handyman chores. I hope he returns!
It was a pleasure to meet and host Jeff at The LaunchPad. He was respectful and kind and I welcome him back anytime!
Jeff was a great guest! He was super easy to communicate with, and we even got the chance to hang out and go out on the town for a night! Very fun, affable person. It also makes a huge difference to host another Airbnb host. Cheers, Jeff!
Kirsten and Jeff were wonderful guests. I enjoyed them very much and was impressed with their upbeat attitude as we rode out some severe rain storms. That did not keep them from getting out and experiencing the City. Their independence and positive attitude was inspiring. Great folks. I'd open my home to they anytime!
