I'm originally from Charleston, S.C., but I live in D.C. after short stints in Santiago, Chile and New York City. I'm a young, laidback journalist who loves to learn, ask questions, travel, meet people and experience new cultures. I think sharing meals is the best way to get to know a person/people/society. I can put together a decent homemade pizza. I love reading--even though I hated it growing up. I love nonfiction and stories written about journalists about their experiences. Favorite books include Eating Mudcrabs in Kandahar, Pinochet and Me, Dirty Secrets Dirty War, House of Stone, Night Draws Near, Guests of the Ayatollah, Eight World Cups, Here I Am.
