I'm originally from New York, but I've lived in Boston for many years. The Vineyard has long been a favorite family destination. My niece and I make an annual pilgrimage to the Vineyard in late summer. I live and work in Boston, not far from the Common. I'm a book editor for a healthcare publisher and a former newspaper reporter and feature writer. Living in Boston provides the best of both worlds ... city life and proximity to the Vineyard. The entire family will be together on island in September. It's an annual trip and we all look forward to it with great anticipation every year. We always time the trip so that we're on island for Kids Derby Day. Last year, The Martha's Vineyard Times' coverage of Kids Derby Day included a photograph of my niece who will be accompanying me in August. She's a great kid who's bright, well behaved, and delightful company whether we're at relaxing at South Beach, enjoying pizza at Giordano's, heading up island for a change of scenery and some chocolate, or driving to Menemsha to see a fabulous sunset.
Also, if you're wondering about the map ... I don't have a photograph of myself on my desktop. I can mail you one if you like. Thx for understanding.
