We are Rachel and Eileen, best friends since the UCDavis lotto placed us in dorm rooms #201 and #202.
Rachel: I currently reside in sunny San Diego, CA. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, but I also claim California as a home, having moved to San Diego when I was thirteen. My high school graduation gift from my mother was a month long tour of Europe, and on this trip I was bit by the travel bug. One of my most impactful travel experiences was a summer volunteering at an orphanage in Nepal, and after my college graduation, I moved across the country to Boston, MA to work for EF Educational Tours, in a role that was a fantastic marriage of education and travel. I only lasted about 4 winters in New England before transferring home to San Diego, and I now work with teachers across Southern California, helping them bring global education experiences alive in their classroom and abroad. I am an avid reader, a lover of yoga, bike rides, cooking, travel and Harry Potter.
Eileen: after a few years in San Francisco, another spent drifting from one South American country to the next, and then a return to school in midtown Manhattan, I've settled on California's scenic Central Coast. I appreciate a good adventure: I love heights, creepy ghost towns, and ate larvae in the Bolivian Amazon - and liked it! I thought Rach might de-friend me on Day 3 of a five-day high-altitude trek I dragged her on, but the wonders of Inca Country made up for it.
We travel together as often as we can find the time and money and are excellent house guests!
