I am from Maine and I love to share my cozy home on Tripp Lake with nature lovers.
The "Ride/Ski Nature Lovers Lakeside" is a small, old, rustic cabin with warm cozy feel, decorated to the last inch..Located just 5 yard from the lake, it offers beautiful views. Although there are several beds (potentially can sleep up to 8 people), it is better to come with smaller party to feel comfortable.
Trudy is a very attentive and helpful host, living just across the yard.
We had few fantastic sunny days of skiing at Sunday River (1h away) and snow tubing (just 10 min away). .
Thank you,Trudy, for making this happen...
We had a ball at Trudy's Cabin in the woods, in a wintry, relaxing weekend. We hiked here and there, we enjoyed fueling the wonderful huge wood-burning stove (big as a furnace and totally effective at keeping us toasty), we anticipated a big snowfall but got just a dusting on top of the plenty of snow that was already everywhere. The lake is inches away, big, quiet, gorgeous, and was covered in ice and a deep layer of snow. Gorgeous views from multiple spots inside the house. Down the road a bit you can see ice fishing, and you see (but rarely hear when outside and not at all when inside) the occasional snowmobile. Inside, the place is cozy, lovingly kept, full of games and videos and every form of electronics to entertain, but the emphasis is on relaxation and ease of living. Trudy has a fully equipped kitchen, and we cooked marvelous meals. The cabin is a classic camp -- every generation seems to have added a room and so the effect is that a LOT of people can sleep in a pretty small overall square footage - we were three adults and we were very comfortable and never crowded -- I could imagine two couples with kids doing just fine. Rates extremely fair.
Keep wondering what it would be like in summer -- with all the water to swim and boat in, and the trees all green. Tempted to go back and find out!
Trudy herself is a sweetheart, totally thorough and painstaking -- she thinks of everything. She also provides the MOST complete account of what is on offer on the Airbnb site -- check it out. Totally recommend this spot and this host!
This cozy retreat is fantastic. The cottage was artistic, impeccably clean & just as pictured. We enjoyed the tub by the bed, the frozen lake and freshly fallen snow right. The wooden stove wood was a nice touch to the place, it reminded me of my grandpas house back in my village! We walked to the middle of the lake and slept in the snow for sometime in the sun around noon, trust me it's worth it. Trudy kept the driveway clean from snow & ice. She was very kind to lend her ski equipment to use on the ski trails. She respects privacy & was quick to respond if there was a question or a problem. She was also very flexible with the checkout time since no one reserved the day after. The view on the frozen lake was just great. If you're debating about making reservations here stop hesitating & just plan your trip - you'll enjoy it!
Had a amazing week in the cabin highly recommended. Trudy was extremely helpful and hospitable! Thanks Trudes!!
Right on the lake, quiet and very comfortable! Trudy is a great host, she really cares that you enjoy your stay. We look forward to going back.
We had a great time. The cabin was very charming and I loved the wood stove, which kept us very warm even though it was in the teens outside. Trudy gave us a great welcome, showed us around the cabin, and took care of us well. She even put up a Christmas tree for us! I would recommend this place to others and I would consider coming back again.
My friends and I booked Trudy's home for a surprise birthday celebration weekend getaway in the middle of December. I am sure that her home is very fun in the summer time, but I think that we scored with our one-night-snowstorm stay this winter. We only stayed Saturday-Sunday and we're hit with 9 inches of snow overnight, but the snow really adds something special to the aesthetic of the property. The wood stove inside was really made for this kind of weather, and I couldn't think of a cozier spot to be with friends. Trudy is the epitome of a gracious host as she takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and happy (she even baked us a giant scone!!). She was extremely flexible with arrival times and helped us get in late. There are lots of beds and comfy spaces to be together. The kitchen is a really fun space too. We really do all wish that we had spent more time at the house, but again, with only two days you have to make do. I recommend you stay at Trudy's house with close friend because you are guaranteed a good time. I will definitely be visiting again!
Trudy's home is exactly what our lil group of friends were looking for on our weekend away, The space is so warm and comfortable and Trudy really makes sure you are set up and taken care of during your stay. We canoed, grilled, sat by the fire, took a lovely walk, cooked a bunch, and just relaxed in the comfy common area. There were seven of us plus a baby and we would have still been comfortable even with a couple more. Waking up in the morning looking right at the lake is such a peaceful way to start your day. Thanks Trudy!
This hidden gem exceeded our expectations in every way! Cozy, beautiful, a perfect spot for a retreat with friends, with several beds that are so close to the lake that you almost feel as though you might roll right into the water if not for the glass window. Trudy clearly puts so much love into the cabin and the land, and we could feel it every moment we were there.
This is a wonderful little fall getaway! Trudy met us, even at our late arrival hour to introduce us to the cabin. The cabin is truly rustic and fascinating! It is in a beautiful location and was perfect for our breakfasts before our busy days. We only wish we had more time to enjoy the view and relax here! Many, many thanks to Trudy for sharing the great place.
