I've lived in Chattanooga for the past 5 years. Prior to that, I was teaching and traveling abroad, mostly in Europe and Asia. Now I work full-time and am a homeowner, so I'm not able to travel as frequently, although it has created this opportunity to host people in my home again.
My parents have been innkeepers since I was 4, so I am very accustomed to sharing my home with guests. My parents' B&B is very nice, and I have tried to create a comfortable and well-designed space for people looking for a place to stay on business trips, weekend getaways, and backpacking trips alike. I have traveled in a couple dozen countries, so I know what it's like to be on the road and want a comfortable place.
Some things about me:
I absolutely love baking, travel, walking, instagram, vegetarian cooking, karaoke, nice paper goods, and going to the brewery in St. Elmo with friends.
I can't read enough about urban design or local politics.
I work in local government. I commute by bus or bike most days, and I walk a lot around downtown. I work in the central business district but do like living in a neighborhood with trees, historic homes, and the occasional rogue groundhog.
I've lived in Germany (3 mo.), England (3 mo.), and Japan (18 mo.). Originally from South Carolina, I made a very conscious decision to move to Chattanooga about 5 years ago and have not regretted it. Chattanooga is a mid-size southern city with big ideas. Our waterfront, downtown, and trail system get a lot of attention, but I also really appreciate the people here. Living in St. Elmo adds a lot of value to my life, because neighbors are invested in the community and look out for each other. I hope you'll come for a visit. Feel free to contact me if you have questions about my place.
