Are your friends Icelanders or ?
Guðrún is the coolest! I was coming from a business trip in Finland and needed a nice place to stay for my short layover in Iceland, and I was super happy to meet her when I arrived. She and her friend spent forever talking to me about their experience in Reykjavik, politics, animal rights, culture, music, and tons of other stuff. They gave me great suggestions about what to do and where to go in town and helped me with directions whenever I asked. I found the apartment super comfortable - especially the bed! - and the location great. The walk to town was nice and scenic, and I totally saw Bjork at the grocery store on the corner one night.
When I return to Reykjavik, I won't hesitate to stay with Guðrún! She's rad.
Good location, great experience, Gudrun was very friendly and gave us great recommendations for food.
Even though we didn't meet Gudron, she made sure that we had everything we needed.
Her place is not central but very nice and full of personality.
Staying at Gudrun's place was great. The location is on a quiet street but within walking distance to downtown. There's a place around the corner with the best ice cream, and the layout of the apartment makes it easy to feel like you have the place to yourself. Would definitely stay there again.
What an amazing location and wonderful host. It is immediately surrounded by everything one needs for a comfortable stay in Reykjavik (fresh bakery, grocery store, Thai take-out, ocean, and most of all wonderful thermal pool and steam bath!)
Guðrún was really kind, sharing, and provided helpful and quick answers to all my queries. When she was around we had some great conversations. A true cosmopolitan who is also deeply involved in her community, she can give her guests a real insight into the workings of Icelandic society that goes beyond the glorification of its fascinating landscapes.
Gudrun was kind enough to let me stay at her apartment even though we hadn't met previously and my profile was completely new. We didn't get the chance to talk much as she had to go away and so I had the entire place to myself for 2 days. The house is very clean and spacious and only 15 minutes walk from the centre of town. There is a supermarket about 2 minutes walk away and a swimming pool! The bed is a good size and I had a very restful stay while I was there with no problems or difficulties. The only two things I would mention to other potential visitors are: 1.The lock on the apartment door requires some finessing to get it open and 2. if you're not from Iceland, the round metal doors outside the apartments are rubbish chutes, which is handy to know if you're doing some cleaning. All in all an excellent, affordable, trouble free stay.
Lovely apartment with a charming bedroom! I received a very warm welcome by Gudrún. And the swimming pool just around the corner is a real good point.
good location (swimming pool and supermarket 2 mins walk away), comfortable room. Gudrun is very friendly and helpful
The reservation was canceled 33 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Gudrun was fantastic. Her place was very nice. She was extremely helpful. I recommend her place highly.
I have known Guðrún Jóna for 4 years now and I lived with her for one month last summer. She was so great to let be stay with her when I was between apartments. Guðrún Jóna is the best. She is a positive, fun, loving person. I am sure she will be a good airbnb host and her apartment is beautiful with great views.
