Sumiko was a wonderful guest and a beautiful person inside and out. Then we met her mom for one night, and we can see why Sumiko is the way she is. Loved them both and having Sumiko's presence, energy and humor in the house was super fun. We miss her already!
Oh, my goodness (and I do mean GOODNESS)! Suki was/is such a jewel! She walks aboard and glows like a beautiful fire fly in the night. Her warmth and honesty is magnetic, and like a halo encompassing all in her light. She was such a good sport. She was alone but the only place we had for her to stay was the Crew Quarters, which has multiple beds. It is so hard to launder and starch and iron all the linens, (we had just had a rather sorry experience where a family of three stayed there and I think the little boy slept 15 mins in EACH bunk! . . . they take hours to right!) So we asked if she could choose one of the bunks. Seems rather controlling of us, but, she did it with such grace and humility. I was truly impressed. I felt like I had known her all my life but needed to know her more. IT was a busy time for us, so I didn't give myself a chance to know her as I wanted to, so . . . now she is gone! I hope she comes back. She said she would. I HOPE, oh, I hope. Well, there is no recommendation better than this! It is hard to put into words the gifts she brings. THIS is the joy of running a B&B. Jewels, which appear, like Suki, are rare gems, and worth all the labor on earth.
