A lovely place! The welcome is warm and everything is clean. A good place to sleep
It's located in a very good neighbourhood, easy to get there. Lovely garden with bamboos if the weather allows. Full of good French literature and the owners are very nice!! However, it has no enough air circulation, but nothing serious, and it's a bit dark as it's in a kind of hidden ground floor, thing that you solve with electric light. It's not complete independent from the other flat above as they share the same entrance. No laundry service in the place...
I liked the space (a house with a garden in Paris is quite rare) and the location. A quiet alleyway in a 'real' (non-touristy) neighbourhood with proper shops and a market. The flat is quirky (the two rooms are split by the communal corridor) but welcoming. Lovely and cool in the hot summer days, and it was so nice to be able to use the garden. The main bed is very comfortable, though a little fragile. The house cat was a bonus: very friendly and cute. I liked that the shower was easy to use, but the shower tray is quite shallow and fills up rapidly. I would recommend bringing towels (not supplied) and a torch: there is no light in the garden so coming back after dark could be a little hazardous! But overall, it was a fun experience, thank you Bertrand and Sophie!
1. The location is convinient (metro, supermarket)
2. Internet is very good.
3. The description of the property is quite correct, although there are few things you should know:
1) the living area and kitchenette/shower/toilet area are separated by central entrance to the building
2) if you keep the door to your living room open - you face the building entrance.
3) the room itself is dark, has single window which should be opened for ventilation constantly (remember, you have to keep the door close for privacy?)
4)The local cat (although a nice one) always jump through this window on the bad. Be ready to wake up at night to get him out
5) Towels. The hostess told they don't provide them, because "we are not hotel". After short negotiation she agreed to provide us with two towels (we were 4 people).
Bottom line: we didn't reach the level of comfort we were expecting to, but for somebody else this place may be OK.
We were staying at the premises after 4 weeks of summercourse in Nancy, so we are 4 girls with a big suitcases, could fit at the apertement, The apertement is easy to reach, nice and cosy, with highspeed internet access, its rather difficult to find a place with garden and we have it, eventhough we don't have a chance to have barbeque, if i am coming back with the group 4 people, i will recommed this apertement, Thanks Sophie of waiting for us, during our arrival
2 friends and I stayed here for 3 nights recently. It is the bottom floor flat adjacent to the garden under a family home. Bertrand himself was not in the country, but his son responsibly gave us keys and advice about Paris. The location itself is more on the outskirts of time (second to last train stop), but is very near the station, so it was easily accessible. We slept on a full bed and pullout bed, both were quite comfortable. There is a small kitchen for use, connected to the bath, in the flat, which we didn't use but I could see being convenient for someone staying for a longer period of time.
Bertrand was a gracious guest. Would be a pleasure to host him again.
Bernard was an excellent guest and spoke Vietnamese to my associates and building staff, which please them very much! He was clean and organized and very responsible and I would be delighted to have him return again. I recommend him without reservation to all AirBNB hosts. Jim Gilbert
