Genuine and easygoing modern person, travelled the world and love meeting people of other cutures
We had a wonderful stay in Jose Manuel's apartment. The place really is so conveniently located close to La Rambla. We felt safe walking around the local neighbourhood and there were plenty of bars and restaurants that were only a stone throw away from the apartment. We recommend that future guests check out Cera 23 for great meals and blackberry mojitos. Barcelona is awesome!
We had a lovely stay in Jose's apartment. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. Jose was very good at replying to my emails very quickly. We really liked the neighbourhood as there are cool little bars and restaurants not far from the apartment. The apartment has not got WiFi but this was not a problem as most bars/cafe's nearby had WiFi we could use. We would definitely recommend this apartment.
Jose's apartment is a very well situated and comfortable place to stay. The photos present well how the apartment looks in reality, it was very clean. During our stay the temperatures were very high, but the air conditioning functioned well.
Within walking distance are many attractions, the beach is close as well. Jose was very helpful when we arrived (at a rather late hour) and provided guidelines as to what to do and see. Overall great location.
There are some immigrants in the neighborhood, but we felt quite safe, even when returning home at later hours. In the vicinity there are many shops, bars and other places where you can get more 'exotic' food (mainly asian) if you want to. Supermarkets are also very close. Most of the times it was quiet in the apartment, we heard some noise from the street on a few afternoons.
Definitely thumbs up!
Jose's apartment is a great place to stay in Barcelona and we had a wonderful time there. It has all you need including a small kitchen and even a lovely balcony, all nice and clean. The apartment is very well located, you can reach most sights and the beach by foot or take the train from the stop nearby.
The only little remarks we have is that the bed is not super duper comfy (though this might be a question of personal taste) and it would have been nice to have some sort of coffee maker in the kitchen.
But altogether absolutely recommendable!
We stayed at the apartment in June of 2013. The apartment has a very central location. You are within walking distance to Las Ramblas, and other main attractions. Barcelonetta beach is quiet a walk about 30 minutes, although doable. We took a short cut through Las Ramblas and Carrer Ferran to get to the beach. The beach is nice and has lots of kilometers of beach, so there are many options. Because it has not been a very hot summer the water was still quiet cold to swim in.
I am sure bus access is also closely available. The supermarket is also very close as well as La Boqueria Market. The apartment is in a sketchy and very noisy neighborhood. Nothing ever happened to us but there is an uneasy feel walking through it, there is open prostitution that is visible on the neighborhood streets. The apartment was moderately clean and with clean sheets. There is a very strong sewage smell throughout the apartment. This was very unpleasant for us. We never got the tv to work. The laundry was a very pleasant amenity to have.
In short, if you are looking for a place to just sleep in that is easy to walk to and from and you don't care about noise, smells, and modern amenities then this is a nice apartment. The host is very nice and reliable to contact. This is an ideal place if you want to do intensive city exploration rather than beach/lounge vacation. The neighborhood of the apartment is flooded by the Pakistani immigrant community, they own all of the stores in the perimeters of the entire neighborhood. If you are looking for an "authentic" neighborhood this is not the place.
I highly recommend the touristic bus tours as well as the Montjuic teleferic ride.
I highly recommend eating in plaza reial, one street over from Las Ramblas. There are many choices to choose from, we enjoyed the lobster paella at the DO restaurant.
We had a very good time at the appartment. Friendly and caring host! The appartment was clean and we had everything we needed. The location is perfect, everything is in walking distance (supermarket, metro)!
Unfortunately it was sometimes really noisy because of some bars which are around but maybe we just caught the wrong weekend ;)
We stayed at Jose Manuel's apartment at the end of May and had a great time. The apartment itself had everything we needed but the best part was that it was so central to everything. We could walk to most sights or maximum 5 stops on the metro. Very easy to get to from the airport too. It was in a cool area where we stumbled upon street parties and open mic nights.
It was our first Airbnb experience and it was a great one!
P.S - The bed was very comfortable.
Fantastic little apartment. Really comfy and a peaceful haven in the busy streets of Barcelona. Really great location too with loads of lovely bars and cafes nearby. Everything you need on your doorstep and 5 mins walk to Las Ramblas. I would highly recommend a stay here and Jose was also a great host with good communication about the stay and giving us loads of useful info. Thanks Jose for a great stay in Barcelona, an amazing city:-)
Jose's apartment was a very nice stay. Apartment was very moderns and clean - just like it shows in the pictures. My boyfriend and I stayed there for a week, and couldn't have asked for a nicer place. Although we did not get to meet Jose, he made sure his neighbour was there to greet us with the key. She was very nice and helpful and showed us around the place. The street can get a little noisy with locals at night, but you can't hear it too much. Their was no cable and a lot of the dvd movies did not work... so unless your like me and need a TV to fall asleep then... that was the only issue I had. But other then that, it was fabulous. Thank you Jose.
