This was our first trip to Europe in the "electronic age" and we certainly did have some trouble with accessing Stephania's emails. I completely understand that would have been quite frustrating for her. It was never our intent to ignore Stephania's (email hidden)cause of our electronics issues, we simply didn't know she was trying to contact us. Once we got our electronics properly set up we responded promptly and worked out our communications issues. In regard to the cooking lessson there were two reasons for having the chef who would provide the lesson call Stephania. The first was to get Stephania's permission. It doesn't sound like the chef did that and focused on the second reason, what equipment was there. Again, I can understand Stehpania's reaction. As soon as we knew Stephania had concerns we immediately cancelled our cooking lesson plans. We have no desire to do anything that would upset or concern our hosts. This was our first experience with AirBnB and we learnt that we needed more reliable internet access when travelling in Europe and that communication always needs to go through the AirBnB site and directly to the host.
Stephania has a great apartment in Sienna, and judging by the "feel" of her apartment I'm sure she's a wonderfull person. We very much regret that we had so much trouble with our communications. We also regret the frustration that caused Stephania. We'll be much smarter next trip!! We hope Stephania will give us an opportunity to stay at her apartment if we ever have the pleasure of visiting Sienna again.
