Regarding water marks on the desk, please notice that the reason Airbnb closes the case in the way that they compensate you is because they don't think it is the customer's fault either. They are just normal water drops, which is definitely "daily wear and tear". If Lauren thinks the desk is antique, it would be a good idea to move out of the guest room. Otherwise, it would be a good idea to put a notice on the desk.
Regarding the kitchen thing, we appreciate your kindness to let us use the kitchen. For my several Airbnb stays, Lauren's place is the only place which states "no kitchen use". I guess my feeling for airbnb stays are more like homestay, which differentiate it from the hotel (Otherwise, what is the point to stay in others' place for a not cheap price?) . That is why we didn't pay attention to this. Thanks for the lesson you have brought us too.
