I am a humanist architect who has always dreamed of having a shelter at home! I like to share and have new experiences.
Laia was a welcoming host from the start. She showed me unique aspects of the city and Valencian life. Her flat is spacious and neat and beautifully decorated. My favourite spot is the couch on the balcony overlooking the plaza. On a sunny morning it is ideal for people watching and catching some rays. At night it is a cozy spot to continue people watching and having a drink. There are two kittens and a dog so you should like animals if you stay. The location is easily accessible to transit and the beach is walkable.
I didn’t get the chance to meet at your rental place because instructions have been given to Pablo at your other residence. So I cannot confirm what has been agreed between the two of you in regards to some rules. However, let me reply to some of the comments that have been made here. We didn’t throw the towels and bed sheets intentionally on the floor. It is common, like in a hotel, to put used bed sheets and wet towels on ceramic floor in order to not damage the wooden furniture or the mattress.
The morning of departure to the airport, the hot water boiler stopped working because the tank ran out of natural gas.(I informed you thru airbnb). Therefore, we had no hot water to wash the dishes of one meal. However, I want to point out that you received a prepaid amount to clean up the place after my departure.
For windows, I can ensure that we closed all of them. Maybe your comment refers to the indoor wooden shutters. Two of them are difficult to close because the latches are not aligned. (Please check the window on the left of the patio door and in master bedroom)
For the gasoline generator that remains on the rear balcony, I haven’t been informed that it should be moved inside. If you had instructed me on airbnb (rules and equipment tabs) I would have done it with pleasure.
Following those clarifications, the total amount of my deposit should be reimbursed. Nothing has been broken or lost.
On the other hand, I would recommend the followings for future rentals:
As you mentioned in your advertizing, your house works as old-fashion but it would be a better place to stay if the basics provided in the house, work properly. There are many small things that need maintenance and repairs. Windows latches, front door latch has no knob (not safe). Missing a sink and fridge in the kitchen. bathroom mirror.
The hot water boiler is located outside and due to the wind, the flame always flickered out (at least 6 times during my stay). The boiler has been installed 10 meters lower than the ground floor and access by the outdoor is not easy. Installation of a wall near the boiler would be very useful to block the wind.
The generator has been installed on the patio next to the dinning room and must be started when light is required or when water needs to be pumped to roof tank. The noise and smell of gasoline is very annoying. The doors must remain closed and unfortunately it kills the panoramic view. I suggest to shift it to the side of the house.
Back of the house, when you look down, you see a lot of construction debris in the garden, dead palm trees. A minimal cleaning would make it nicer.
On airbnb, please put a clear list of all your rules to avoid any misunderstanding.
The appartment is cosy and well equiped.
Laia and roommate are very friendly and helpfull. I can recommend to stay there. No private bathroom though.....
It is super nice to stay with Laia and Madel. The apartment is located in a neighborhood with thousands of bars and restaurants. There are lots of bus, metro and valenbisi stations nearby which makes it easy to reach the beach and all the other neighborhoods of Valencia. The room is bright, comfortable, and pretty quiet. Laia and Madel are fun and very welcoming and their dog Tu is cute and behaves well. I felt pretty much at home :)
Highly recommend this place. The apartment is lovely, cozy and clean. It has everything you could need and more. However the best part of your stay will be Laia and Madel. The girls are sweet and so welcoming. They made us feel like friends not guests in their home. They introduced us to locals, had heaps of advice for us and even took us out to lunch. We were sad we had to leave their little home. Plus you will get to meet the worlds most charming and clever dog Tu! You could stay somewhere else but I promise you will not have abbetter experience than staying with this amazing little family. We love them so much they have an open invitation to come and stay with us if they ever make it to Australia. Thanks again girls you are fantastic!
Small room. Host very friendly. Had all required. Not very ideal location for our activities (we stayed to travel to and from Bunol for La Tomatina).
Nice stay in Valencia! The location is just perfect, right in the university area and buses work really good: 15 min from the city centre (at night, buses till 3 am), 15 min from the beach (about 40 mins by foot).
The girls are nice and easy going, it's a pity we didn't manage to get more advices about the city, but maybe we were too shy to ask!
The apartment is very cosy, the room is tiny but the bed is big, and it can get very hot at night but they provided us a fan which was great!
Tu (the dog) is so sweet and, last but not least, they have an awesome balcony with a sofa where you can chill out watching the panorama!
Thanks for everything girls!

When I stayed at this accommodation Laia locked me out of my €200 safety deposit because of a mistake the hosts made themselves over the key cash deposit. After the mistake was realised, I was happy to pay the cash deposit directly into Laia's account as she requested. However, when I asked about my €200 she said she did not control it. I then had to do some research myself and found out the way she requested the money would mean I would have been locked out of my €200 for good but she would have got her pay sorted. My money has still not been returned and it has been 2 weeks. I would be careful that if you stay here and are locked out of your €200 that you do the research yourself to ensure you get it back as Laia failed to that for me. Other than that the room was very hot and there are extra charges for tea or crossiants in the morning and to use the washing machine. However, the rest of the house is nice, especially the balcony and the place is nice if you are looking for accommodation in the residential area.
Laia and Madel are seriously the best hosts you can ask for: friendly, knowledgable, and very easy going! We enjoyed our stay are very thankful for a chance to see Valencia and meet its wonderful residents. Thank you!
A friend and I spent 2 nights at Laia's place. The room was big enough to accommodate two people easily. The apartment was centrally located. It was easy to get to the city center using a bus.
Both are friendly and easy going people and I would definitely recommend the place to anyone wanting to visit Valencia!
