Daniel was responsive and helpful all the way through the entire booking process as this was our first experience using AirBnb. He left his place in pristine condition for us and was accommodating with linens and toiletries (and his refrigerator!) He has wireless internet which is a nice plus when you're traveling. It is listed as a studio simply because the sleeping and living area are in the same room but do not let the label fool you -- there is a formal dining room and kitchen -- as it is spacious and much larger than any hotel room.
His location -- although noisy due to its proximity to Lombard -- was fantastic for seeing the sights of the Marina District. Only a few blocks from the Palace of Fine Arts and a short 10 minute walk to the Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Field, the park, and an even shorter walk to Chestnut Street where you'll find many of the great restaurants and bars in the Marina district. There is also a gas station (Valero) with a mini mart just a few doors down, and there is a Walgreens across the street one block away. We did not have a car but Daniel told us there is plenty of free street parking nearby if you require it.
If you're up for it and the weather is nice you could even walk the 2.5 miles to the Wharf area. (Hailing a cab along Lombard proved a little difficult.)
The building itself was very quiet, so the street noise probably wouldn't bother you much with the windows closed.
I would definitely recommend Daniel's place.
We enjoyed these folks very much. Hope to have them visit with us again anytime. They both were thoughtful and pleasant guests.
Daniel and his girlfriend were really great guests. The were friendly and considerate. I would definitely be happy to rent to them again in the future.
As Daniel's girlfriend, I can attest to the amount of preparation that goes into each guests stay... and let me tell you, it is no small feat.
Now, we're not talking the usual sheet-washing and wiping down of the bathroom here. We're talking "can't go to brunch cause I've got to deodorize, spot-clean and vacuum these carpets" kind of cleaning. My loss is your gain people.
Along with the cool view and well-appointed space, you simply won't find an apartment as clean, comfortable and accommodating in San Francisco. Enjoy!
Dan is my brother, and aside from his awkward profile picture he's a great guy and can be trusted.
