I am the communications director and concert manager at the University of WisconsinMadison School of Music.
I am mom to two fine adult boys, both classical musicians.
I am "mom" to one fine dog, Shelby, part Shepherd, part hound, I think.
I am single and enjoy ridiculously long walks in the woods with my dog. I guess that harks back to my days growing up in rural New Jersey, in Revolutionary War country, where I spent hours exploring, sometimes finding antique pill bottles in the nearby swamp.
The dog then was Laeta, a black Lab. I then moved on to Carmen, another part Shepherd. They lived to be 15 and 16, respectively. Shelby is six.
I became a journalist and sometimes wish I still was.
I got my two boys into Suzuki violin when they were young, and that begat another exploratory phase. Now I find myself working in the music biz. Funny how that happens.
I am Type 1 diabetic but I live (and die, too, I guess) for Swiss milk chocolate.
I read a lot, especially history. I recently finished David McCullough's "1776" and got a kick out of mentally revisiting the area where I was raised.
I subscribe to the daily New York Times and also the New Yorker magazine.
I love to garden and my backyard is filled with perennials.
I am a free-form traveler-- no itineraries except for maybe one big show with pricey tickets. I love theater, symphonic music, and museums.
I wish I could travel more. We'll see.
