The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming to all travelers - young and, ahem, middle-aged. The festive grounds are full of palapas, hammocks, and a bar with a swim-up pool, had a terrific view of the Arenal Volcano!

when we arrived the place was overbooked so they found another place for us.
What a welcoming place! The staff were all very hospitable and had great recommendations for all the activities we were looking to do. No pressure to do any of them, just good ol advice. From hot springs, to ziplining, to places to eat - all their opinions were helpful! I liked that it was a smaller place because it didn't get too crazy - and it wasn't so crowded. Definitely clean and I felt safe. Free parking and access to their sister hostel was an added plus! From reservations til the end, Jessica was a great hostess as well. She helped answer a lot of my questions and made me feel comfortable traveling to a foreign country. Definitely would recommend this place or even stay here again if I ever go back to Costa Rica.
Very nice accomodation and likeable hosts! Good location and all around comfortable and clean place. Recommendable!!
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Nice place in the tourist center. Welcome drink was a nice touch.
Clean basic rooms with big bed and AC. Very helpful staff and super convenient location. Hot water is a bit iffy, and my TV and AC didn't work on the first night but they did what they could to fix it. There is always music playing till at least 10pm, but it's by no means a loud party. Quieter than most hostels I would say. Jeep Boat Jeep to Monteverde is $25, most of the tours are decently priced, although I didn't like the Arenal sunset tour due to a poor guide. Rainforest tour was great, as were the Baldi hot springs. Do the waterfall by yourself. It's a 1.5 hour walk from the hostel or $7-8 cab, $18 admission.
There was a little hiccup with the airbnb reservation being shown on the hotels books, but this was rectified without any problem. The cabins are in a lovely setting surrounded by forest but also walking distance to the 'town'. Absolutely fine to stay here for a couple of days.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and we felt very safe and secure, remembering it is a hostel. The staff was great and they actually have another one a few doors down which is where you will find a bit more action a pool and mini restaurant . Where we were it was very quiet which was great and we had a large room with 2 big beds and own bathroom. Great place for the money ,would highly recommend.
This is a good option in the center of La Fortuna. We had a private room with en-suite bathroom
and air conditioner. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hostal grounds have sitting areas, hammocks and a bar. When you arrive you get a welcome drink from Jose the awesome bartender. We enjoyed (email hidden) in the evening and chatting with Jose about everything and listening to the good music he plays. He was hands down our favorite person at the hostal. Breakfast was $6 dollars and good. The guy working the breakfast was nice and always chatted with us. Overall it's a great hostal that is clean, books tours, good location, and has a chill vibe to it.
