Paolo was an excellent host. He met us at the train station when we got in, showed us to the apartment, and was very helpful throughout the stay. The apartment is beautiful and spacious, looks even better than the pictures!
I was not able to meet Paolo, but my friend who checkin did. From what I hear, he is an amazing host, extremely kind, and made her feel very welcome. The place was very clean and spacious. We had our own bathroom, mini kitchen, all the essentials. Extremely close to the station, and close to the dock. There's even a lift that takes you up to see a topdown view of La Spezia.
The location was great. Paolo was extremely helpful and quick to respond. He even helped us carry our bags to the apt and ensure we found parking! The only thing I would say is that it may be a little noisy for light sleepers, but you can't beat the location!
Paolo and his sister we're great hosts! They were excellent with communication and getting us checked in. The apartment was very clean, as described and had great views! The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. The place is close to the train station, which meant we could hear the trains, but the place has great windows that block out most of the noise.
Cornigilia was a great spot to stay in. It's much less touristy and packed as Vernazza and Monterose, which makes for a much better experience. Check out the little stores in the village and try the lemons!
Paulo & his sister met us at the landing above the train station, a great help to find the apartment. The apartment was beautiful and well appointed, everything we needed. The rooms were large and very well decorated and comfortable with their own lovely bathroom. The view from each room was amazing and the little deck off the one bedroom was a lovely place to sit for breakfast or an evening glass of wine. The noise from the many passing trains just below the apartment as the only negative, just have earplugs for when you go to sleep.
Paolo was a great host! He met us at the train station - even though we had some trouble transferring trains to Corniglia upon arriving in La Spezia - and was very gracious and accommodating upon our arrival. He personally escorted us to the apartment, a short walk away, and then showed us around. The apartment itself is beautifully finished, the beds are comfortable, and the view is spectacular.
Be prepared and excited to tackle huge flight of stairs to get into Corniglia. Yes, some effort needs to be made and you don't want to go up and down four times a day, but if you do it intelligently it's no big deal at all (plus the views on the way up make for some nice breaks). I really recommend the trail from Corniglia to Vernazza, and then we took ferry boat down to Riomaggiore, train to Manarola, and train back to Corniglia in one day. It was all great, but be advised trains can be painfully inconsistent and unreliable.
One word of caution, if booking with Paolo, advise in advance if you plan to use all three guest rooms, as third was not prepared for us upon our arrival due to his assumption we were traveling as two couples. No big deal for us, though, as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and his accommodation anyway.
I hadn't the chance to meet Paolo but he was very easy in communication and very nice.
Everything was perfect. He left our place clean and tidy.
I recommend Paolo !!!
