Great room in a great part of Santa Teresa! As described, the cabins are right off the beach and the pool is clean and shady. The aircon was a necessity and the porch was nice.
lots of communication prior to booking, shali was helpful answering any questions and advising the best way for us to get there an meet him.
We were a group of 4 and the house was perfect. The kitchen and living room wa spacious and the use of a washing machine was ideal.
The pool was perfect for cooling down in during long hot days.
The house and pool we maintained and cleaned spotlessly during our stay and the house provided a perfectly central point for us for the week.
The beachside cabins are all really great, right on banana beach and you have pool access. They are all located amidst a really lush garden, like you're in a refined jungle. Very cool. I'd recommend staying in one of the other cabins though vs. Beachside Cabin S1, it's kind of covered up and isn't as welcoming as the others. Maids came everyday to keep the place up to speed, and it had all the basic needs. I wouldn't call it hyper clean or super nice, but the location is hard to beat and if you're a budget traveler who wants a private space it's a pretty good value.
If you have to work or have need for wi-fi while you're here, I'd check with the host first. It didn't work at all while I was there.
I did not have a chance to meet Shali, although when I called to let him know I was in town early, he was very friendly and told me to come and check in with no issues. The remote access to operate the gate makes it secure, althought I would of like to have to remotes since we had two cars and only one remote. The kitchen is great if you want to cook or put things in the fridge.
You couldn't ask for a more attentive and open hearted host. Shali was there when ever I needed him. The place was rustic, but you get what you pay for. The value is really high here as the location was so close to the beach. A bit too close to the road, but I knew that when booking in and it wasn't an issue. If you think of this place like your beach summer cabin then it will be perfect. The cleaners come every day and that kind of service feels like 5 star. I would stay here again for sure. Maybe I would upgrade into another cabin, or maybe not. One thing that I loved was that beach restaurant right in front of the Cabinas, it was being back in Thailand... and in all the good ways. Chill vibe, great food (costa rican prices of course $$$) and great view and access to the beach. The location for me made the place. The rustic feel of the cabin, made is affordable, and the service made it feel like a high end hotel.
Shali also has such a lovely heart felt connection to the nature around you, if you listen to him talk about it, you feel even more connected to all the beauty you have landed in.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Phenomenal experience. The casita was eat to find, right by the beach and within easy walking distance of a bunch of restaurants.
Showed up and checked out without any problems and loved everything about Santa Theresa.
This is our favorite place to stay in Costa Rica. Perfect location. Nice little kitchen area on the balcony with pool and amazing beach area with bar and restaurant. Bed is comfortable and hot water works great. We will be back soon.
These beach huts/ bungalows in Santa Teresa located on a compound are a great way to enjoy beach life. There are about 8 on the Ppty, all varying in size but totally private.
You feel like you're living in the jungle w/ all the vegetation & iguanas crossing your path.
We enjoyed the pool quite a bit, as the surf @ Playa Grande is pretty intimidating & we had our 2yr old w/ us. Later in the wk, we walked further down the beach & found smaller, calmer coves & late in the day when the tide goes out, the lava rock peaks through the water, creating little kiddie size pools that were great for our daughter.
The restaurant on site has lots of offer, staff were friend;y & helpful & the area itself has a ton of great restaurants. We didn't cook at the house, as there is just a hot plate & we were on vacation, so didn't care to be bothered with it, however others may.
We also drove 30-45 mins to Montezuma to hike into the waterfall, which was a nice experience.
Santa Teresa is really an adult play ground with surfers & everyone driving ATV's through town.
We will definitely return!
We were disappointed by this (website hidden) is located a short distance from an extremely busy ,dusty road. The noise of ATV's and motorbikes starting soon after sunrise and continuing well into the night were nerve-racking.The Cabinas itself could use some very serious (email hidden)rtunately it did have an AC.The entire "resort" facility also seems to have seen better days. The pool area was unattractive and very uninviting. The huge redeeming factor was the restaurant "Banana Beach " and it's extremely friendly staff in front of the facility and of course the magnificent beach that stretches for miles in both directions.
