I told Sin an arrival window of about 1.5 hours because my ship was running late. She volunteered to leave the key for me because she didn't have time to wait so that I could get into the apartment. When I arrived the wrong key was there and I didn't have a phone that worked in Hong Kong or wi-fi. Luckily the doorman had her information and called. This process took about 30 minutes. Then when I went to get into the shower there was no hot water. After I messaged her she said that she could come about 5 hours later to check it out.
The room is very well located in Wan Chai and is very close to Causeway Bay. It has a fully equiped kitchen and bathroom. Everything is clean and functional.
the room is as seen as the picture
We stayed at Sin's flat for eight days and I must say, that it was the best decision we could've made. The room was sunny and had a great view over the surroundings through its big windows. The bed, although a bit short was actually perfect for two people. And the kitchenette and bathroom were exactly fitting our needs. One of the biggest advantages though, was the location - only a few metres away from the tram stop and five walking minutes from the MTR station - we were perfectly connected with the whole city. But to be honest, we didn't use the public transport so much since the flat lies in a vivid and interesting area, full of shops, cafes and restaurants. We would also walk all the way to Central or Hollywood Road areas by foot, since the flat was really not so far away from them. Definitely the best place to stay one could find in this price range in Hongkong! We are looking forward to stay at Sin's if we find ourselves in this amazing city again!
Sin was an excellent host. She was very straightforward saying the place was small so there were no surprises when we arrived. She contacted me several times before arriving to make sure I knew how to get to the apartment as well as providing lots of information about the area including maps which had useful areas circled (eg. market area, where the closest mtr/bus stations were located etc.). She also provided the address in Chinese so we could hand that over to a cab driver.
The place itself was small (just as mentioned), but it was clean and everything (bathroom, a/c etc) worked. The place did not have towels but Sin mentioned that beforehand and and even provided info as to where we could buy them if we had forgotten.
The location was excellent, we frequently could walk to places we wanted to go, and if we couldn't walk there was an MTR station 3 minutes away.
The size of the room will shock you. The room has direct access from the corridor and is not a part of an apartment. It is self sufficient with an electric kettle, TV with Chinese channels, a microwave and fridge. The bath is tiny. Get a bath towel. Sin Ho provides a few tiny face wipes.
The location is great with trams and buses on the street below. Lots of eating joints. Try the Japanese crab joint and any of the Vietnamese ones around the block.
Sin Ho was very communicative. Had send in advance all the options from the airport to her place. I would recommend this place if you need a place for a few nights, and if you are travelling single.
Nice and friendly host. Apartment location are great. 1 min to buses and MTR. 1-2 min to tram. 10 min walking to Wan Chai Ferry Pier. The room is small, however it was clean and has almost everything you needed.
My partner and I stayed at Cindy's for 6 nights in early May. We were there early and Cindy's husband Patrick was very kind to come over to meet us at the building and check us in within 10 mins of notice. Patrick was very thorough with the intro to the room and gave us great advices to facilities in the area. They also kindly let us leave our luggage in adjacent room on check-out day since our flight was in the evening.
The location of the place was fantastic right in the heart of HK Island; flanked by two main roads with tram line on one & major bus routes on another. Airport bus E11 stops 2 mins walk away and so is MTR station. Causeway Bay, Admiralty & Central only 1-2 MTR stops away (or by tram $2.30!), or you can explore on foot like we did most days (CB/Admiralty 15-20 mins, Central 20-30 mins). Else-wise, eateries, supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries, laundromat, public pools, computer shops, wet market, nightclubs you name it nothing is more than 15 mins walk away.
The room was modest in size, as expected in HK, but generally clean & well-maintained and sufficient for two adults. Everything from shampoo, conditioner, basic cutleries to cotton buds (!!) were provided except bath towel & slippers. The only downside of the stay was that the communal washing machine didn't work and we had to bring our laundry to laundry service. But if laundry cost is already in your budget it shouldn't be a issue. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
